It is normal for you to feel 'Blue' during the first two weeks after birth, but after this period your body regulates your hormones and things begin to settle down ( even though you feel very sleep deprived!) So if you are still feeling 'blue', what do you do? I suffered PND after both of my babies, and severly after the birth of my second child. I feel quite strongly about sharing my experience so that I can help others. There is a stigma surrounding PND and it prevents some women asking for help and even receiving help. The results can be catastrophic, affecting not only the women involved but children, family and friends. I have started my own blog http://isurvive-postnataldepression.com/ where I can provide a place for women and those close to them to share their stories and what helped them overcome PND. I want women suffering to know that they are not alone and that there is help out there.
What are your experiences? what do you know about PND? What do you think are the causes, contributers? I can't wait to post again, I have so many things to talk about, and I hope that I can help inform others!!!!
Thanks;)
