Hi

I have a beautiful 5 week old boy who sleeps all day, although he has started being alert for about 2 hours a day this week, and we have to wake him usually every 3 hours for feeds as I'm trying to counteract his nighttime behaviour where he sleeps very noisily (quiet during the day) and wakes up wanting feeds when we've only slept an hour and the feeds are taking usually 2 hours to complete. Basically I'm exhausted  as I have a toddler too so can't just sleep when he sleeps like I did with her.

Just looking for any advice on how to flip this routine around. I try waking him every 3 hours for a feed during the day but he's not always hungry and you can't force it.

Garrett slept alot like this when he was that age... Through the day i tried to play with him more so that he stayed awake for a bit longer. As each week went by he would stay up abit longer. Now he only has 2 day sleeps.

Not sure if this will help. I think at that age i just let him sleep, but with a toddler it makes things harder...

Sleep deprivation is torture! best of luck to you

Well he must have heard me threaten to take embarrassing pictures to show future girlfriends!! Last night he slept for a 4.5 hour stretch!! And I slept for 4 hours in a row :smiliedance: . I didnt do anything that I hadn't done before, maybe just a different way but I'm :fingerscrossed: that it'll happen again tonight.
