Did it work for you? What strategies did you chose? Would you recommend it?
I am at my wits end. DS is 7 months old and waking almost hourly. I don't want to use CC or CIO but it needs to change, I'm so incredibly tired. I also have a 2 year old so can't sleep during the day. We were co-sleeping but he refuses to settle for me anymore, he thrashes, kicks and cries when I bring him into my bed.
Read it, loved it... foun it hard to translate into working with twins.
HOWEVER- I think if you are dedicated to no-cry solutions.. then you really can't any better a guide. Pantley is wonderful

Loved it. A combination of the ppo, a routine change and the Babybliss settling technique worked for us. The NCSS gets full credit for revolutionizing day sleeps, night sleep is taking a bit more but we are getting there.

He's not feeding to sleep and he's having the perfect amount of day sleep. I truly have no idea why he wakes so much overnight. He has a dummy, maybe I should get rid of it?

Subscribing! I bought the book a few weeks ago and am due with #2 in 5 weeks, so I'm interested to know what experiences others have had. DS was breastfed until nearly 4 and I pretty much just BF him on demand that whole time and coslept, so it took a while for him to sleep all night without waking. He got there in the end, but with my newbie I plan on getting her a little less dependent on breastfeeding back to sleep. I was pretty worn out with DS at times and I just can't do it the same again, it'll kill me!

Could there be something physical? Like teething? Food Intolerances? Digestive issues?
My DD became the WORST from around the 8/9 month mark and woke up religiously every.single.sleep.cycle.
It was the worst. And honestly I tried NCSS but she was so stubborn, i was so tired, I didn't really stick to it and so I just gave up. I surrendered, accepted she was a terribly crappy sleeper (day & night) and just slept with her & abandoned all housework - and I know that's not possible for you right now with your toddler..
I now know that the bad sleep was a combination of very bad teething & food Intolerances ( because now, she's sleeping really well).
I would really stick to the suggestions, when you pick the one that works and give it a good couple of weeks to get the groove going...
Hugs x

Love it. LOVE it. I started reading last month when DS was 3 months, and she says you can't really do much until 4 mo... I started out by using the gentle removal method and her idea of having a quiet time before bed. has worked wonders. DS was a terror to get down and now he is *starting* to self-settle. He doesn't sleep through the night yet because we have had the 4mo sleep regression then teething then reflux then needles playing with his sleep but we'll get there :)

Why do you say it is the 'perfect' amount of day sleep? My DD thrives with no day sleep, i would prefer at least an hour- how did you work out it was the perfect amount, and how much is it? I am genuinely curious.

He gets tired I settle him, he sleeps more then 1 cycle. Everything that talks about 6 month old sleep says 2-3 sleeps.
