DS is 9.5 months old and started pulling my hair really hard. When I try to stop him, he starts smacking. I've tried saying no & naughty and clapping my hands and I even smacked his fingers which is a habit I don't want to get into. He's seems to know he's being naughty and tries to see how far he can go. How can I stop this so he knows its bad behaviour and without smacking?

but look at all the wonderful attention he gets when he does this trick!!!

When my son started pulling hair I just moved him so that he couldn't reach the hair anymore and tried not to increase the attention he was getting. It only lasted a week or two and he stopped. He will occasionally run his fingers through our hair now, but would only pull it once in a blue moon.

Bug used to do this all the time and I've always TRIED not to smack her. One of the things I discovered that worked with her was instead of smacking her hands I flicked her with a couple of my fingers. it stung her for a few seconds but after 10 min of doing this to her (maybe 6 times in total) , I now only have to put my fingers up as if im going to flick her and she leaves my hair alone.

Its the first time in years i have had it this long so the last thing I want is her pulling it out. I do enough of that myself:banghead:
