Hi there everyone!

Just had to have a rant as such. I could rant about the lack of selection in boy's clothes but I am happy with how they are much more practical than girl's clothes which is what I am about to go off about.

Anyway, what is it with toddler's nighties and PJs being made of that terrible nylon style no nonbreathable fabric at the moment! I went to Target to try and buy a simple pair of cotton girl's PJs or nightie and all they had was satin licenced clothing, tissy things with tutus and some other ghastly non breathable fabric trashy looking nighties/PJs. I am so sick of PJs not made for the Australian climate in summer. Then I went to Best and Less, and all the cotton PJs were in the boys range, and again, non breathable nylon style fabric for girls again! And again at K-mart too. It is so yuk. All I am after is simple affordable cotton PJs.

Oh and little girl's shorts! I don't want my daughter wearing hot pants. My DD currrently wears my son's size 0 cotton shorts which are longer than what is on the market for girls in size 3.

Anyway, rant off. Just had to see if anyone else is having the same problem with finding decent summer PJs for kids. Especially if you live in a humid part of Australia like Qld etc.

Anyway, I think I need to learn to sew:laughing:

The satin nighties, etc. don't worry me so much.....my rant is about how everything is long pants or 3/4! What happened to short (not too short, just normal) shorts for PJ's! Out here it gets so hot, i'm just resorting to DD sleeping in a singlet and undies methinks. I'll just get a nightie for when other people are over.

I can't even buy womens PJ's with nomal shorts! :banghead: They're either only big enough cover one bum cheek, or they're too long!

Oh, I hear you on the length of pants Shazbutt! That is so true!

Harry&Max's Mummy: Maybe I went to a smaller Best and Less. I might try another bigger one if you have seen other more suitable PJs. They had cotton short sleeve and pants for girls last year, but I could not find them at all this year. They came in a packet. I can't remember what brand it was, but they were good and quite cheap. I only saw them for the boys this year. I'll have another squiz at a bigger B& L perhaps.

Yep  I have seen them in Best & Less. They aren't hung though, they are in packets. Ask an employee if you can't find them, or they don't have any girl prints left. I know form experience that they can transfer what you want from other stores.

I hate those pj's that you can buy at Targer and other stores that are made out of the most cheapest and horrible fabric. I am always on the lookout for nice cotton ones for my kids. I think you need really light ones for the weather we get here in brissy. I always have a look at Pumpkin Patch and they sometimes have nice ones. I think that baby shops have some nice ones, you just have to really look around. I love pj's from snugglebum. They're on the net. I think it's www.snugglebum.com.au  and I have seen them at a baby shop in Newmarket, Mama's house or something like that. Also try www.purebaby.com.au  lovely clothing and pj's.

I hate going shopping for shorts for my DD, all the ones I find are all too short. I don't want to be exposing her IYKWIM so I don't buy them. I did find really good black pair in target just a few months back and they come to just above her knee and they have an adjustable waist. I also found good ones at Myer in Strathpine, they have a good selection of kids clothing.

Before I had my son i thought that there wasn't any nice boys clothing, but when i do go shopping for him the clothes are so much better and more practical. Why can't they do the same for girls. The clothes that are out now are way too trendy for little girls and I will not be buying them any time soon. Oh and one other thing I hate is those little bras for little girls, in like size 2. OMG. :shame: No way is my daughter getting one of those or the lacy undies, nope just plain ones for her. Whoa am I venting or what.
Feel heaps better now. LOL

I solve the problem by buying boys pants for my DD, but I am getting soooooo sick of having to expalin that she is a GIRL and yes I know those shorts look boyish but I dont care get stuffed. (people seem to ignore the girly tshirts I buy her  )

Bonds have a great pair of denim shorts that come to the top of DDs knees, and are about $12. (got them in Big W)

I got a lovely set of PJs in Target which are all cotton, it's pot luck some days with that place.

If all else fails try ebay.

Yes I too and not impressed with girls clothing either this year.
But I searched and searched and Myer seemed to be quite nice, nice dresses made for little girls and nice cotton nighties too

You guys should have a look on ebay :) They have lots of kiddie pj's available there. I myself just sold a new with tags pair of cotton girls Pjs from Myer that was bought for a gift & never used - the buyer got a real bargain & these were 100% cotton & very light & comfy.

Cotton On Kids have the coolest PJ's.

They are cotton and they have shorts or Long pants.

I bought mine a pair for $20 each.
Had to go and buy more they are soooooooooooo cute

Yep have to agree with the cotton on ones they are so practical and yet so cute. Myers also have lots of cotton girls jammies.
