Is it possible for a 3 month old to be teething? He seems to want to chew on everything, especially his hands, he drools and is really fussy, especially when it's feed time... And he loves his feed time!

Yes! My 8 month old DD has been teething since she was 3 months and still doesn't have any teeth!
Our DS is 6 1/2 months and has been doing this for several weeks - no teeth though, and I have a feeling he won't get them for a while longer. Some babies are 12 months old before their first teeth break through.

Good luck!

hi natty21, babies are teething whenever the teeth are moving. It is somewhat painful for them and something they can do at any age. My four children all got teeth at different ages and with different 'methods'. The teeth need not be anywhere near close to coming through the gums, but the baby can be having distress. Have some panadol or bonjela handy, there can be pain, and temps with teething. Marie.

I always thought that you'd see the teeth coming up or very close to the gums. I think I see some whiteness through the bottom gum but I'm not sure they're teeth. Might try some Panadol and see if it makes a difference. Can you give a 3 month old a teether?
First time mum so I can be clueless at time lol Thank you for your replies = )

hi natty21, i think three months is quite common for teething to start, there can be still months before teeth actually appear. A teether is just a chewing thing?? like a rubber rattle thing?? I dont see any harm in that. I also believe a little bit of bonjela or similar, does wonders in giving quick relief from soreness in the gums. Also the bowel movements can change with teething, change colour, odor, and frequency, increase in 'acidity" and cause nappy rash, so some nappy cream , sudocream?? is handy too. Marie.

Definitely can be teething! My dd has been teething since about 3 months and she is now 7 months and no teeth yet, it's hard cause sometimes her cheeks go bright red and she seems to be in a bit of pain the poor thing. I find cold things to chew on help a lot and if it gets really bad I give her some nurofen. Teeth are not fun at all :(

Hi Natty21, we too are having the same with our little man.
Thanks for the thread.:)
Who knew there could be soo much drool. DS makes himself sick as he is chewing on his fingers and pushing them down his throat. I didn't know a baby could fit both fists in his mouth at this age. All I can see is 2 small white bumps on either side of his bottom gum. They pop up and go down again. Aren't they meant to get the front teeth first?

LoL Luckily we now know what the go is. Exactly! He's practically shoving his entire hand into his mouth and I'm seeing the little white indents on the bottom gum.
Fun times ahead of us!
Thank you all for your suggestions = ) Much appreciated. Nice knowing there's help out there!
DS1 started teething at 3mths he got two teeth at 5mths
DS2 started teething at 3mths. I put an amber bracelet on him and he isnt bothered anymore.

What's an amber bracelet?
Hi natty21 make sure u don't use bonjella (spelling!?!) yet as it is only from 4 mths old.
Our bub has been teething since about 3 & 1/2 months and we got our amber from AmbeRocks & it has been great :)
Also make sure u have plenty if bibs to cope with all the drool :)

My DD1 started teehting at 2 months, they would come up, then go down again- her first tooth didnt actually stay put until she was 9 months old! DD2 was about the same- 2 months, and her first 2 teeth broke thru at 3.5 months.
