Having a newborn is so hard and we can sometimes feel so useless and lost, so I'd like to celebrate what we have managed to do during this time.

Today I:

- wrote a paragraph for my essay
- made the bed, did the dishes, and the washing.
- managed to feed without a shield
- had visitors

What has everyone else been up to?

Is a 5-week old still considered a newborn?

Hope you dont mind me joining in!

Today I:

Did 3 loads of washing
Vacumed and mopped the floor
Cleaned the kitchen
Posted loads on Bubhub:D
Cooked dinner for 8!!!

i cleaned the bathroom ...... for the first time since dd was born

yes, it REALLY needed to be done, but it wouldnt have gotten done had we not had people coming over for lunch .... people that we don't know well at all .... and therefore will not forgive us if our house is a pigsty

i also am about to hang out a load of washing. thus endeth the housework for the day (and perhaps rest of the week...)!

raffee - cooked dinner for 8! AND managed housework! Does that mean it gets easier from now on!? Or do we just get better at time management!

Hmmm...

Load of washing - washed, hung out & brought back in (haven't put it away yet!)
Swept floor & dusted
Went to supermarket & did some shopping
About to log on for a 3-hour online class...and Abbie has just woken up hungry!

:D

No, I was just having a good day. They happen occasionally.

Today is not one of those days. All I've managed to do is take bub to his appointment and buy my toddler a new booster seat. That's it.

Here's hoping the day gets better...

Today I have:

Crawled out of bed
Got dressed
Changed nappies
Breastfed (several times!)
Had lunch (too late for breakfast) and
Got online typing one handed while doing the abovementioned breastfeeding

But yesterday we went to see the child health clinic and did the shopping with DD in the hug a bub, as well as fed her in a parent's room (a first for us) :smiliedance:

Hopefully today I'll put a load of washing on, and maybe even get to hang it out - can't put her in the sling today 'cos it needs washing!!

We went shopping!!

Nothing too exciting, but we went to Big W, Woolies, the chemist and the health food shop, and had a coffee and a breastfeed at Gloria Jeans

Today I left some dishes dirty,
the bed got made around 3:30.
The nappies soaked a little longer,
The odour grew a little stronger.
The crumbs I spilled the day before
Are staring at me from the floor.
the fingerprints there on the wall
Will likely be there still next fall.
the dirty streaks on those windowpanes
Will still be there next time it rains.

Shame on you, you sit and say,
Just what did you do today?

I held a baby till she slept
I held a toddler while he wept.
I played a game of hide and seek,
I squeezed a toy so it would squeak.
I pulled a wagon, sang a song,
I taught a child right from wrong.
What did I do this whole day through?
Not much that shows, I guess that's true.
Unless you think that what I've done,
might be important to someone
with deep green eyes and soft brown hair,
If that is true....I've done my shareAnon
