Hello,
I've just come back from Mum's Group and I'm having a stress about my 10 month old's behaviour! A little girl and him were playing on a keyboard and he swiped her out of the way with his forearm! I then relocated him and he had a screaming fit!! (A tantrum at this age - please no!!! ) Then I couldn't even get the little wriggler back in his pram!
Is this normal, or I have I given birth to a brat?

No, he's not a brat just a normal little boy by the sounds of it. At that age they are so self involved they just want to power on and do whatever makes them happy. There's no malice in what he did it's just nature and he's programmed to look after number one at the moment. All normal :) but stressful for us parents....
Normal normal normal !!!
:hugs: to you... some of the stages we have to get through are really hard
and i certainly think its fine to start using firm and clear instruction for him now..
ie : "No" or "stop" and then relocating him, he will eventually get the idea...
He is probably just a normal, strong willed, child :D
PM me any time you want to chat... i have TWO normal, strong willed boys !! :o

I hear you sister,
Yesterday I went to playland and my DS2 (2yrs) decides he only wants one car in the whole place and no one else can ride it. One little girl was using it and when he wanted it he hit her then she hit him back. I pulled him out and made him sit on a chair. He then decided to scream so we went home.
I am the one who gets embarrassed but it is normal behaviour for their age. Can't wait till he becomes 4. ( then we will start with the attitude)

That's encouraging! (...Sort of! :D ). I am dreading the Terrible Twos!!
haha i hope not... because if you do then so do i
Mate we need to get Ben and Ethan together ! They could just hassle each other all day and we could sit back and watch them attack each other !!

 Ha ha, I really like that idea! There's only one baby in history that has rendered him speechless, and that was a VERY vocal 9 month old female! Apart from her, he'll take on anyone! :D
haha i hope not... because if you do then so do i
Same here - I was wondering the same on Wed about EJ when I was at mothers group
She grabbed one baby whos only just learned to sit by his bib and yanked him over - then was trying to hit at his face - was stealing his toys and when i gave them back to him would have a mini tantrum ....
Fun times - not lol

All perfectly normal. Relax, don't feel embarassed and don't let anyone make you feel bad. But do let him know you don't want him to, head him off if you can and move him if it becomes a problem for the other kids... not because you are really going to find pretty much any form of discipline of explanation effective at his age, but because you don't want everyone else sitting there seething.
We had a little one in our mothers group who could crawl before all the others and was early to hit, smack, pull, push etc Problem was mum would just sit there and kind of giggle 'you're such a bully XXXXX'. It became really frustrating for the rest of us constantly soothing and moving our defenseless, immobile bubs. Once they were all on an even footing we became more relaxed about letting them sort things out themselves and it became easier to install blanket rules on hitting and throwing. Of course, my little man's the bully now as he was the first to run...
