I had an emergency cesarean almost 4 weeks ago and whilst I know not to try to do too much, too soon, I am keen to regain core strength and abdominal strength as soon as possible. I do plan to see a physio after my 6 week check up however wondering is there anything I can safely do before then? I am doing pelvic floor exercises but wondering if it's safe to do pelvic tilts, or even planks etc? What about pushups etc? I know to take it easy but don't want any more muscle wasting away!

I don't see why not (well, I know there would be heaps of reasons why people wouldn't - and I'm not a health professional - so it's just my opinion). I think if you are only moving a few cms to get the feel of the movement/motion again that's a great start. That was my approach anyway! Even if it's just a few at a time you can always stop if you feel uncomfortable or build up to more! It sounds like you are familiar with the techniques and are smart enough to know when you would be pushing yourself too much.
