Hope this question doesnt sound silly! My 10 week old DD is constantly rubbing her eyes and now her left eye lid is quite red. i thought at first it was because she was tired but she has been awake for 30 mins now since her last nap and she is still rubbing it a lot

I have dreadful hayfever today myself and it is definitely the weather for it. DD seems happy and is not at all grizzly. On the other hand, I feel shocking!! Should I take her to the doctor?

Also while i am at it - does anyone know what is considering "safe" to take for hayfever symptoms while you are breastfeeding?

Thanks for reading

Kate

Umm I pretty sure they can get hayfever. Both hubbie and myself terribly from hayfever and I noticed everytime we go down to my in-laws farm she has red eyes and runny nose and is constantly rubbing her eyes. Go to the chemist and ask them to recommend you something you can take while b/f

in the personal health record book you get when you have yr baby it says that claratyne, polaramine, avil, rhinocort, aldecin and beconase are all safe to take while breastfeeding.
my doctor also recomends to always try to take meds straight after a breastfeed so they get the lesser amount.

Maybe your bubs got some dust in her eye or something, try to squirt some breastmilk in it incase there is something in there.
hope she s better soon:hugs:
