Hey lovely ladies

We have a lot of newies to the ED Forum who google 'egg donor' and a few minutes later find themselves in an entirely different world with not much help to know what to say, how to say it etc. I have searched the site but can't find a nettiquette guide with the basics in it...am I missing it?

Otherwise, is it OK if I find a couple of good sites - perhaps others know of some - that we can post as a sticky for our brand Newies, as well as a list of ED acronyms, and the general acronyms? Will put together here for the moment if this idea is OK and ask one of you to sticky it.

Just might help some of the communication issues - takes a while to understand the structure of the forum, where to post, what to post, what is appropriate etc. and for most, it's a huge emotional step into the bargain.

Thank you - as always, you do a great job and we are most appreciative.

xx

Thanks for those acronyms!

There is a 'How To' guide in the main (blue) menu bar that gives the basics on making a post and there is a list of acronyms in the Contact section at the very top of the forum.

However, I take your point, it is on my 'to do' list to make some of these things - plus our site rules - a little easier to find. I will endeavour to move it higher up my 'to do' list and hopefully have that done within the next 3 weeks.

In the meantime, I've made this thread a sticky

Thanks Hil, have just got back here and read this...as long as it's somewhere on here and we can point them in that direction so they can get a vague idea.

Love your work!

Hi There.. This is my first time doing "this" and seriously have no idea what to do.. All looks very confusing, so thought this thread title a good place to start.. Just watched the SBS Doco and feeling a little overwhelmed by the whole ED Ride!! I am waiting to see if i will be donating for my sister who is still undergoing IVF cycles, so if unsuccessful again, I will be helping her out.. I never realised that there were so many women out there needing donor eggs as well as women interested in donating...

As i have 3 healthy kids, was very keen on the idea to help my sister out.. GUess I was not quite ready for the realisation of the whole process until I watched the program tonight..

I am still very excited about the prospect of helping her out, but fingers crossed her next cycle will work.....:) Thanks for all the lingo.. May take me a while!

Thankyou so much for this info, it really helps. I was a little confused with all the letters in all the messages.
Now I can get my head around it a bit better.

I am a bit confused as I can't seem to find my posting I put earlier in the week. Nat replied to me and I think I replied to her but am not sure.

Can someone help me please:confused:
