Hello,
I've just moved back to Australia with my husband and 18 month old son after living for 10 years in my husband's country. We are in Labrador.
I am looking for people with toddlers around the same age who might be interested in regular meet-ups at a park, or our houses etc.
I'm 34, I am a PhD student, and am looking for work urgently so I won't be able to decide on a day I can meet yet. Hopefully I can get something soon and work out my schedule.
I am friendly, a bit of a nerd (I like reading, birdwatching, puzzles etc.), but I still love a laugh with a few good friends.
I also have some questions for people in this area if you wouldn't mind helping me out.
Which daycare centres have you heard good/bad reports about (Southport/Labrador)?
Do you have a GP that you'd recommend?
Do you know a good place for toddler swimming lessons that is reasonably priced?

I hope to make some new friends here soon. I am going through a bit of reverse culture shock, and would love to catch up with some nice, normal mums and their bubs! Please send me a PM, or respond on this thread and I'll PM you.
Thanks,
D

Thanks Julia. We are getting there. It has been a hard few months, but slowly settling in. I'm working casually which is what I wanted. Child care here is very different to what it was overseas. I haven't been impressed with the centres so far. Unfortunately, not many options, so can't complain too much.
