Hi There,

I am just wondering if there are any mums out there who may be in the Hills Area NSW who have had premmie babies and would like to get together and share their experiences.
I had a premmie baby myself. Tristen was born a full trimester early through an emergency C-section owing to me being diagnosed with a rare heart condition.
He is now 9 months old:)

So mums it is just for us to get together over coffee for a chat and support. Motherhood is a wonderful gift but sometimes you just need to talk to somebody who has been through the mill like you. Especially when you talk about your babys corrected age, which can be confusing enough!

I hope I hear from you soon.

I don't live in your area but would be happy to have a chat on msn if you're interested. My son was 9 weeks early due to severe pre-eclampsia and IUGR. My daughter was only 5 weeks early due to severe hypertension and my 3rd was fullterm but with massive problems leading them to tell me at 21 weeks that I could deliver 'any day now' and would not go pass 28 weeks... miraculously we made it to amlost 39 weeks with a scheduled csect tho!

Hi

Is Tristen 9th chrono or corrected. I'm Michele I have b/g twins who have just turned 1 who were born at 31w5d due to a cord reversal on twin II. We are out near Liverpool.

I know what you mean about corrected age etc. we come up against it all the time. :banghead:

Hi DD,

Tristen is 6 months corrected!
It just gets so confusing when people ask how old he is. If you say 9 months then they look at him as though he is too small. So we just say he is his corrected age so as not to confuse the old dear who has asked and doesn't know what you mean.

Hi There ladies,

I am just amazed that each one of us has a different story to tell.
I was wondering, do you have to go back to Hospital for check up on your babies.
I think it is part of the Silver Star Follow Up Clinic. Tristen was born at the RPA and they have their own programme for premmie babies.
We went in May and the Physiotherapist made us feel like we weren't doing enough exercise for Tristen. Such as making him roll over and lift his head. I have spoken to a lot of parents and they said it took awhile with their kids. I think sometimes you just need to relax about things. Otherwise you get too caught up in what other people tell you.

Also, it is National Babies Day on 20th October. I know some of us don't live near each other but maybe we could find a central location and meet up on that day.

Have a fabulous Friday,

PixieMum
