So, its gonna be either Wednesday the 4th of October or Thursday the 5th of October. Please post your preference.
Ok, I didn't attach a poll but these are the options.
Hyde park cafe- in Hyde park!
Bicentennial park- On a train line.
Post Cafe- Marrikville (very child-friendly!)
Gloria Jeans mid city
Westfield Burwood- a short walk from the station
So whatyall think?
I found this review for Post Cafe:
Post Cafe, 274a Marrickville Road, Marrickville, 9572 9339.
Open Mon-Fri 8am-5pm; Sat 8am-4pm; Sun 8.30am-3pm.
The high ceilings, floorboards and large windows of the old post office make this cafe open and airy. Soft music plays and the food is reasonably priced. There is room for strollers in the cafe.
The tables are spaced well apart and the atmosphere is very relaxing. There is a full cafe menu with lots that's suitable for children's meals and snacks, such as toast, muffins, smoothies, toasted sandwiches and frittata.
Toilets/baby change: Toilets in cafe. Highchairs: Yes. Children's menu: Yes, and lots of food on the adult menu is suitable for kids.

One last thing!
I just thought that it might be easiest for most of the sydney mums to just meet up in glebe or newtown (close to both ultimo and stanmore and not too difficult for those using public transport). Glebe point rd or king st have many lovely cafes that would be accomodating of mums with bubs. Just a thought.

I love the idea of Glebe but Im with Shed.
I lock myself in the house and close all the blinds during school holiday madness. I even take to midnight grocery shopping..... please insert shaking scared face here

Sorry Ive checked with DH and no can do for this one (my car is at the mechanics getting a new motor at the mo and we are a one car family in the meantime) But I will make every effort to attend the next one Raffee where I can try and make these new breastfeeding cookies I read about it the breastfeeding thread. Dont have too much fun without me

just bumping this thread .......... did we decide if we;re meeting this week or not?
I dunno. Havent heard back from Jane:confused: . If she pops on from now until Wednesday night, then I think we ought to take her up on her offer. Otherwise I still think we should meet in Glebe or Newtown on Thursday. I will keep checking in every now and then to see what ensues.
I have to be in the city on Thursday (opthamologist appointment in the early afternoon) so I'll probably be unable to make it to and from Marrickville in time for the appointment.
If the city is out then I might have to take a rain check :(
Will you guys be at the Darling Harbour meet on the 12th? I'll probably catch up with you then (though as I have my OB check up on that date, I'm not sure how long I'll be sticking around).
Beany, what about on Friday?
Friday might be a bit of an issue. My father in law is due back from Queensland at some point and I suppose we shall have to be sociable.
Is Darling Harbour too difficult for a meet-up? I can make it there either day (close enough to make the appointment and to do the visiting in-laws thing). There are a couple of cafes there (both in and outdoors) and a playground that Thomas can run amuck in while we watch and take notes for future reference :D
If it's too difficult, don't worry about it and have a great time in Marrickville. Perhaps we can have another meet up in a week or two?
I'm up for Darling Harbour, and I can do either day. Let's see what mama anne can make and then make a final decision.

beany whats the easiest way to get public transport into darling harbour (or close enough to walk to whereever we'll meet)? i normally catch the bus into the qvb though i can catch the train from epping if need be .....
Anne: Town Hall station isn't far off. You walk through the QVB and turn left down Market Street (the entrance with the Portmans on one side and Country Road on the other). Then walk down Market Street - the ramp to darling harbour is about 2 mins walk.
Buses ... there's tons of them that stop by the QVB. Not sure which would be most convenient for you. Again, just walk down Market Street away from Pitt Street mall.
There's the monorail which stops at Darling Harbour. Haven't a clue where you'd get that from though - I've never used it. As far as I know, it's only useful for getting to the fish markets.
Shall we make the meet on Friday? Give others a chance to see the thread tomorrow and see if they want to come?
Oh dear. DH just told me he's agreed to another job interview for Friday morning, so it looks like I'll only be able to make tomorrow (anytime) or Friday afternoon (after midday).
I will check back on here over the course of the night to see what you girls decide.

DP just got home and told me he has booked his car in for a service tomorrow and he is taking the day off :mad:
I am so IRRITATED. I have told him before that he can't just take days off willy-nilly without telling me first because this house is my PLACE OF WORK and I should be informed if there is going to be extra staff here (LOL).
As for the car, well as you know we are currently a "one car family".
He said he didn't think I would have another meeting of "ya mothers internet thing" again so soon. - well so what and anyway, since WHEN did I have to inform him of my schedule??? :mad:

And I've got a blocked duct - though judging by the lump, I'm thinking it's more than just the one duct. Its horrible and I hate it.
