I'm curious to know what names people find interesting, regardless and apart from names you'd actually use. Why do you find them interesting?

3 of mine are:

Magnus - I find it a powerful and complete-sounding name. A man named Magnus would be smart, charming and fascinating and very worldly after a lifetime of living up to his name. He would be self-assured but not cocky, not highly academic, yet socially powerful, perhaps an entrepeneur, film director or artist.

Peaches - it's Rock n Roll, glamorous yet kittenish.. I find this name very alluring. Peaches would be a classy socialite, educated and measured, defying the almost frivolous nature of her name by dazzling with sharp wit and intellect. A woman of many means.

Agatha - most people are aghast when i tell them this is one of my favourite names but I think I'm before my time and that it will have a huge comeback of the likes of Audrey and Ruby. An Agatha would be mysterious and purposeful, private and with an acid tongue. A woman not to be trifled with yet with a soft inner core, an Agatha would not easily tolerate fools but would be the focussed host of magnificently arranged dinner parties. The name brings to mind a deeply buried precious jewel glowing in the halflight of a cavern - I find it so pretty.

Your turn! :)

I love the name Aurora. I know its something to do with the stars or planets.

I love the "sound" of the name Agnes. I know its terribly old fashioned, but Ruby used to be old fashioned and so did Emily and Abigail and they are all back in fashion. I think Agnes will come back in and there will be little Aggies running around everywhere. That's my prediction.

I used to love the name Madeleine, before there were millions of them. It used to be an uncommon name.

for boys, I love the name Gage. I just find it really cute for a little bloke and then quite distinguished for a big bloke.

For boys...

Jobe - Love this name although I don't know if I'd ever actually use it.
Ezekial - Zeke for short - this one got rejected quite quickly by DH when it was tossed up whilst I was pregnant with Jesse.
Tobias - no, I'm not getting the names from the cast of Arrested Development;) but this is another one I like.
Christopher Jon Santino - always thought I would name my first son this name...Santino is for the character James Caan plays in The Godfather...loved Sonny! Jon is for...well need you ask! :D

Girls...
Lainie - love this name yet I've always been and always will be hell bent on Charlotte if I have a girl but this one is one of my faves...from Seinfeld, Jerry often called Elaine "Lainie"!
Scarlett - from Gone with the wind, but I've always pictured a Scarlett having dark brown/black hair - and that's not going to happen.
Tiger Lily - ever since Paula Yates called her little girl this I've loved the name, but wouldn't have the intestinal fortitude to use it! :o

ooh Len, that is so pretty.

I love Aurora, I love Laura, so it makes sense that I would like Elorah.

I met an italian girl called Ilardia once. I don't know how its spelt but thats how its said but with the rolly tongued italian thing. I always thought that was pretty.

Chrishelle: My niece's name, its a combo of her nanna's name, Christine and her mother's middle name, Michelle. Chrishelle's middle name is Bethany and the Beth part is from her great grandmother, Elizabeth (goes by Beth) so its three generations in one name.

Other names I like:

Brylie
Luna
Chrisanthy
Tristan (for a girl)
Tiger-Lilly
Lola
Jessa
Adair (g)
Jett (both, but more for a boy)
Ayrton (air-ton)
Skye
Daveigh (dah-vay)

I know a Magnus, he's a pilot for the Royal Flying Dr Service and a nice guy.

I really like Gertrude, I know everyone hates it, but it's like Shed, I think it was her anyway, said about Agnes. I think a little Rudie would be cute. Don't think I'd ever get Angus to go for it though!
