The Bachelor of Midwifery students of the University of Queensland are required to undertake Follow Through experiences as part of their program. Follow Through means the ongoing midwifery relationship between the student and woman from initial contact in early pregnancy through to the weeks immediately after the woman has given birth, across the interface between community and hospital settings.

The Follow Through experience offers continuity and the development of a trusting and supportive relationship between a midwifery student and mother. As a Follow Through mother, one student would accompany you to your antenatal visits, offer to provide you with support during labour and birth and the postnatal period, the student, however, does not replace your primary care giver. All participation is voluntary and you may withdraw at any time.

We understand what a special and exciting time this is for you and hope to be able to be a part of it. Please feel free to contact for further information. frances.combe@uqconnect.edu.au or 0403 940 947. :)
