The other day I tried a new dip for the kids, it was the Kraft cream cheese and corn one in the little tubs. 5 mins after my ds broke out in a hivey type rash all over his face, but no other signs of anything wrong (had epipen in my hand for awhile though as he has a peanut allergy). I gave him some claratyne and a couple of hours later the rash was completely gone. I checked the ingrediants and the only thing in it that I think he could have reacted to that he hasn't had before was locust bean gum. After a bit of googling I found out this can actually be a common allergy. It's from a legume, like peanuts, but ds has had peas, beans, lentils etc. before with no issue so I assume he isn't allergic to all legumes, only some? So confusing! Has anyone else's child ever reacted to this?
