My poor little man has baby measles.

He was sick for a couple of days, then got a rash which began behind his ears and spread over his whole body... I was telling myself it was just a virus, but was starting to fear it was measles.
Took him ot the docor, and he he confirmed that it's baby measles.

I feel terrible, because I started him at day care last week, just two half days, so that I could start to get some study done. He seemed to really enjoy it there, which is great... but I didn't expect him to pick up measles!
He has also recently cut down to one BF per day, which makes me wonder if that somehow lowered his immunity...
I know I am being a bit silly, but can't help feeling a bit bad about it all. :crying:

Thanks for letting me vent!

Oh no! Your poor little guy. Don't blame yourself - he could have picked it up from a shopping trolley or anywhere. I hope he gets over it really quickly :hugs:

Are baby measles not covered in their MMR vaccinations?

Your poor little man. Hope he gets better quickly :)

Just curious...what's the difference between baby measles and the measles my 7yr old nephew has right now?

Both of my kids have had measles and although it leaves them a bit irritable, most of the time the cruise through them as bubs. Neither of my kids had had their vacs at this stage (long story - legit reason!)

:hugs: to you and your little man ... I hope that he feels better really soon!

Yes, Measles is covered in MMR... 'Baby measles' is milder, and not vaccinated against. It is generally just a rash, fever, irritability and lethargy.
Unfortunatley, he actually also has some serious respiratory stuff going, an ear ache, and the beginning of conjuctivitis.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts :o I hope he gets better soon too.
