Hi all
I just have a few questions. My sister and her DH have been TTC for 2 yrs now. They already have a 2 1/2 yr old daughter but havent had any luck getting pregnant again. My sister has had blood tests to check her hormone levels and also had a laparoscopy the other day to see if tubes were blocked or something else was wrong but that has come back all normal. Her DH however had a sperm count done a while ago and came back just average. The Dr said 20million was on the lower side of average but still enough to consider normal. Her DH had 17million so the Dr said that is still ok.
Just wondering if any one has had a similiar experience and what they did about it? If they eventually got pregnant in the end and how they did it or if they did anything special to get pregnant.
I just feel really sorry for my sis as she so badly wants to have another baby but it isnt happening and i get pregnant so easily. She thinks that there is something wrong with her even when all the tests prove that everything is fine with her.
Any advice or ideas??

I should also probably mention that it did take about 12 month for them to conceive their daughter, so they were hoping after a year it might have happened again. 2 years is just getting a bit much.

The scraps of info I have on this come from the internet. Apparently zinc increases a guys fertility and being overweight decreases his fertility. I think Alcohol, tight undies, hot baths and bicycle riding are also meant to be bad for him, but they probably already know about these...

No personal experience I can share, sorry!

I hope they get a positive in the not too distant future.

yeah, of course it would be really hard, taking a long time, stressing about it, worry, etc etc, my friend atm is goin through it, so far its been about 20months, they both have had all the tests etc etc, and everything is fine, but since she has a cyst atm and hopefully its either gone, or needs to be removed, so its probably why its been taking a long time, but shes finding it hard atm and for me it didnt take much time at all to get pg with my girls, so, all i can give is a big hugs :hugs::hugs: and i really really hope it happends soon for them, :fingerscrossed:

The only tips I have to share is, lose weight(if overweight), eat lots of green leafy foods( because of folic acid), soy products, they have natural progestrogens and estrogens in them which helps to regulate our own. Have her research herbs for fertility, there are lots that will help her and her hubby. Then she must time ovulation perfectly. Try opk's, or charting temps. (www.fertilityfriend.com). Maybe use preseed to help hubby's sperm get to the egg. I tried for 2 1/2 years with no sucess. These are the things I did and it worked for me. Good luck to her!!:fingerscrossed:

Our Fertlity Specialist gave me a copy of what she calls a "Sperm Rescue Remedy" - here it is:

Zinc
Vitamin E
Vitamin B
L Carnitine
L Arginine
Selennium

It is apprently proven to work - you can get all the above at any vitamin store.
