Hi to Everyone,

I went to a local Fruit shop on the weekend and bought a few things. I am so sick of going to buy this stuff and bringing it home and it is disgusting:thumbsdown:

Capsicums - Looked great on the outside - cut them open and there was like this strange mould growing in them.

Bananas - expensive but DD loves them so I buy 4 - each one is bruised which means I end up cutting big chunks out.

I do usually go to either Woolworths or COles but they are pretty hit and miss as well.

Does any Brisbane mums out there know of a good Fruit shop??? I am on the northside and would love to buy some good quality produce. Has anyone been to the new Markets at Nundah on Sundays?? Apparently they have fresh produce..?

Please let me know where the good places are hiding...

Thanks
Paula

I usually get mine delivered through vegies.com.au Always been very, very fresh. They send you the goods the same day they buy them through the markets.

Sorry I am no help. I went to the new "Farmer's Markets' at Mitchelton on the weekend there was nothing 'farmer' about them. The only fruit or vege there were banana's which sold out by 6am:mad:

Hi there

I live on the Northside too and I am a massive fan of Clayfield Markets. It's right by the KFC at Clayfield, there is a Brumby's and a bottle shop near it.

The produce is amazing - always fresh and totally flavoursome! I love their stuff. They have a great range of health food there too and juices etc.

Give them a go!

Jessie

Hey O's mum, there are 2 good F&V shops very near us - one near the train station, the other at the other end of the same rd :) Interesting that the farmers markets weren't too good - it was completely insane down there on Sun morning so I thought they must have been alright!

Which station? I can't think where it is :o I have tried the one in K-mart but they don't have alot of variety.

Hi
we went to the Nundah Markets - just down the road from us - and we bought a bunch of Lady Finger Bananas for $7.99 per kg and they are absolutely delicious!
We also bought some Mandarines and Oranges - it's wort going there!

I haven't tried the Clayfield Markets yet, but heard that they are quite good and reasonably priced

sorry this if offf the subject of fruit, but perhaps you could look at getting a debit card. We have one coz we didnt want a credit card, can use it just like a credit card though!

I cant be much help. I went from getting my fruit from just coles & woolies then got sick of all the prices so my mum told me to go to the fruit store as they are way cheaper. So i went to a few and :barf: our potatoes were all soft and bruised, watermelon HORRIBLE just everything was yuck so at the moment im back at woolie's even though grapes are now $12 a kilo
