I'm attempting to puree my DD's vegetables and freeze them. Just wondering how long they will keep in the freezer for and what vegetables don't freeze well (eg: potato?)? Also, I was planning of doing individual vegetables pureed and frozen into ice cubes and then mixing them when serving, so do any of you have any winning combinations (eg: pumpkin & broccoli).
Hope this makes sense. :D
Hi
You can store frozen baby food for up to a month. I too freeze up big batches in ice cube trays and then transfer to ziplock bags (labelled) when frozen.
I also mix when serving and I haven't found anything that doesn't mix well yet.
Some favourites:
Pear and Banana (Great to mix with rice cereal)
Apple and Avocado
Mixed Vegies (Sweet Potato, Potato, Carrot, Pumpkin)
Potato and Pumpkin
Potato and Spinach
Carrot and Broccoli
Carrot and Spinach
My boy will eat ANYTHING so the options are limitless at the moment!
Ditto on Nicole's message but in addition I find that zucchini and any vege is a great combo. A favourite with us at the moment is pumpkin, carrot, zucchini and red capsicum - nice and sweet and colourful!

Yummo! Do I need to remove the skin from the zucchini?
Thanks for your replies so far.
I don't take the skin off - it is so soft that just steaming or boiling is enough. If you are worried the other option is to grate it before cooking - then it cooks really quickly.
If you bub has a sweet tooth and is not really interested in the veges or rice cereal - try combining pureed apple with it. For some reason, just this little bit of added sweetness will make them eat almost anything!
I used to just make a combination of basically whatever veges were in our fridge ... the faves were ... Pumpkin, zuchinni, onion, carrot and potato and carrot, kumera (sweet potato), cauliflower and brocolli with a little cottage cheese added.
