Hi There
I was hoping I could get opinions or advice on some breastfeeding books or dvd's etc that you found helpful for assisting in preparation and learning as much as I can about breastfeeding etc.
I had a really hard time with my DD and want to try again with this bubba and I want to prepare myself as much as I can. I read every post on breastfeeding with huge interest and am learning alot but also want to have something at my hands that I can read and read again to prepare and when I start. There is alot of info what did you find the best???
I am in the process of already organising a LC to come to the hospital and then to come to my house and I want my DH to come to a ABA meeting with me so he can understand a bit better on breastfeeding and what I need to do. TIA:)

I found the ABA website really helpful and interesting. You would definately benefit from going along to an ABA meeting, as you get to 'see' breastfeeding mums, rather than looking at pictures in a book. IYKWIM?

Hi Ness
I was in the same boat as you, enormous challenges BFing DD, but with a really positive attitude and plenty of information, I am successfully BFing DS from day 1 with absolutely no problems at all. :D One website I found really really helpful (with all parenting issues, not just BFing) is http://www.askdrsears.com
Here (http://askdrsears.com/html/2/T020100.asp)is a link to the page with all the BFing information.

Hi,
ABA run breastfeeding classes I know the Chermside group has one this weekend.
Also an easy to read book is "Bestfeeding" and a really helpful DVD is "Follow me mum". Your LC should have some resources you can borrow.

Hi,
I just want to second Goosie, get along to an ABA bfing class if you can. DH and I went, we learnt heaps. We got to watch a mum bf, watched videos, asked questions. It's great to be able to take your partner cause they learn all about it too.
If you're not an ABA subscriber I think you get a free bfing book when you subscribe atm, it's a good reference to have on hand too.
And yep the ABA website and forum have a wealth of info on them. Get on the forum and read about other mums bf experiences if you have a chance.
All the best with it :)

I really recommend http://www.kellymom.com/
HI
I just wanted to say that its great that you are making such an effort to try to breastfeed!!I think its really important for dads to be involved too,its so much easier having a good support person.
I remember the first week BFing I had mastitis, and my DF would push down on my lump while I was BFing to help drain it LOL
Check out your local library,I was there yesterday and they had alot of good books.
Good luck with it!

What a fantastic approach you are taking. With this sort of outlook, you are sure to have a successsful breastfeeding relationship with your bubba when he/she arrives.
I loved (and still do) reading Sheila Kitzinger's book called Breastfeeding. It is a beautifully written journey into the world of breastfeeding.
All the best.:)
