Does conceiving get harder with each pregnancy or easier?

Hi

We conceived DS1 by accident, DD1 the month after I gave up breastfeeding and DS3 within 3 months (for 2 of those months I had mastitis & think that probably inhibited conception for those months).

I'm currently weaning DS2 off the breast and although we're trying now, don't think that we'll be lucky this month as never got pregnant before when breastfeeding.

I was wondering whether any of you out there who have had 3 or more children and found conception easy have found it just as easy to conceive your later babies? I know I'm getting older with each pregnancy, but hopefully, as they're all fairly close in age, that wouldn't be too much of a problem.

For me it got easier. DS1 took 8-9mths to conceive, DD...I fell pregnant 1mth after stopping the pill. DS2 I was on the pill, and this baby was 1 night of unprotected sex.

DS fell pregnant really easily, DD was probably a month.... DD2 was a 'one off' and I concieved (unplanned) 12 weeks after giving birth.

I have never found it difficult to conceive - as a friend tactfully put it "you get pregnant at the sniff of a d!ck!" :o :laughing:
My first was very much an accident (I don't recommend the withdrawal method as a form of contraception!), my second was planned and conceived the month we decided to try, even though I was still on depo and we assumed we'd have to wait until that had worn off - not so. My third was unplanned and conceived while I was exclusively breastfeeding, my fourth was neither planned nor unplanned - we knew it was likely to happen but hadn't actually made a decision to try, and my fifth was a bizarro little miracle baby that just managed to happen, despite the odds. Of which I won't go into here but I can assure you, it was a fluke that I conceived her.

Well it turned out that conceiving wasn't any harder. Got it right first time (again!) Nausea with 3 little ones to take care of isn'r fun though!

Hi,

Actually it took less time to conceive than my second child. Christopher was unplanned because I was off the pill because I was having problems with them. Luke was planned and took 6 months to fall. Melissa was planned and was also six months also, Jayden was unplanned but I wasn't worried as I was not using any protection. Ashleigh was planned and only took 2 months to conceive. So in reality it took less time to fall pregnant with Ashleigh than the others I planned. I am planning on TTC next March if I get the go ahead with the gyno.
