Hey guys,
Can an experienced photographer help me out?

A couple of years ago I started getting interested in photography and I bought a Pentax. My hubby surprised me with a Tamron SP AF 90mm Macro lens one birthday which was lovely! Only problem is, I now want to upgrade to a Canon and I'm worried the lens will be wasted. :(

There seem to be cheap converters for sale on eBay here (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AF-Adapter-Pentax-K-PK-Lens-Canon-EOS-60D-600D-/360363248734?pt=AU_Cameras_Photographic_Accessorie s&hash=item53e752cc5e). Do these actually work? I'm very confused also which one to order....

ANY help would be much appreciated as I'm feeling way out of my depth. I've googled but I usually don't understand the technical jargon on photography forums and stuff... :freakingout:

The adapters work fine. They won't autofocus and depending on your camera there may be exposure issues - with both of these features, the lens sends the camera back certain information, and with lenses of different mounts they won't be able to talk to each other. It's not a massive issue, though.

As long as you are happy enough to work around not having these features, the adapter will work.

Oh yaaay!! Thanks heaps DL. It's a macro lens so the loss of autofocus isn't a HUUGE deal.

Excellent *rubs hands together* This will add to my ability to convince DH I really need a camera upgrade and it won't cost all that much.
