Still debating whether to throw a party or not (she won't remember it down the track anyway!)...Her birthday was last friday though so we better get moving if we do have one!
We did have a couple of small celebrations with family (one with my family and a BBQ lunch with DH's family) but not too much spent at this stage.
I'm sure there'll be plenty of birthdays down the track where we need to spend a fortune so not sure if we should this early in the piece.:)

Jesse's 1st birthday was held at our home with clowns and their performing dogs - it was a scream...the kids loved it!
With present, food, entertainment, decorations etc it would have cost us around the $600 mark...not sure, it seems like so long ago!
For Lukey's 1st birthday we hired a farm - we all went there and the kids sat on hay bales at a lower table to eat and then went around and fed the animals and went on a hay ride. The 'barn' we had it in was absolutely beautiful (they mostly use it for weddings) the open fire was going, there were baby animals in a pen for the kids to play with and they had a great time. We brought all of the food with us and they had a kitchen where we heated everything up. I then painted little bread & butter plates with an American style barn on it and "a day on the farm...Lucas' 1st Birthday" as a memento for every child to take home with them.
All up Lucas' birthday would have been around $800, again including decorations, food, hire of the farm etc.
I love thinking up bigger and better ways to celebrate birthday parties!!:D
DD's party is on Sunday & not including her presents I have spent almost $300 so far.
It's not going to be anything too fancy either so I hate to think what it's going to cost for future parties where she will be asking for jumping castles & all the rest of it.
