Im looking forward to feeding ollie solids.
My midwife has told me not to start solids until 6 months although i know babies to be eating at 4 months. Now im not sure what to do.....
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
I have the Womens Weekly 'Fresh food for babies and toddlers' also. I highly recommend it!! Its a great book, shows you through how to do all the fruit and vege purees, and different combinations to try. It also shows you different foods that are suitable for different ages.
6 months is still the recommendation for introducing solids, although some do start earlier. Some babies will take to it earlier, but most won't. There are signs to check whether your bub is ready, including, but not limited to: opens mouth when you bring a spoon to it, good head control, can sit up, teeth, showing an interest in your food (ie. grabbing it out of your hand).
