Hi guys, just wanted to ask around and see if anyone could help me.

I know that each of us is different and our bodies do such amazing things through pregnancy and birthing..

My first child was born 7 weeks premmie due to my not having enough room, my body went into spontaneous labor with contactions starting and the dr having to break my water. They gave me steroid injections and an injection to slow the labour to ensure the baby had enough time to get the steroids, though the baby arrived the next day.

I remember the nurses in the birth suite not believing me when i arrived and told them i was only 33 weeks and my contractions were 4 mins apart..

My first bub was born 7 weeks prem and still weighed a pretty healthy 5 pounds, though spent 1 month in hospital due to not co-ordinating sucking, swallowing and breathing - had to be fed by tube through the nose and had some dusky episodes when bottle feeding just before bringing her home.

hubby and i have decided to ttc though i am wondering what are the chances my next bub will also be premmie. I am only a tiny build and am wondering if any mums out there who have had more than 1 premmie's are able to fill me in on what might happen..

Will it be more than likely that i will have a c-section or will they just monitor me more closely this time round?

i also struggled with PND due to my first child being in hospital for so long - though I know i am in a much better place this time round if things were to go that way again - i am older and more prepared for things this time round..

have you had more than 1 premmie and if so, how many weeks difference? did you have a c-section? or did your gp and hospital monitor you more closely?

Any advice or feedback would be fantastic. I wouldn't care less if i had to have a c-section - as long as the bub arrives safely and healthy.

Please respond! thanks

Hi I had DS1 at 35wks he was 1.7kgs I went into pre term labour
and they discovered I had PE also
i was being watched closely due to bub having IUGR
but the week before everything was "normal"
so it was very sudden

10mths later I fell pregnant with DS2 they tried to reassured me
things would go well
I was seen by the Ob every 2wks but things where going well
no sign of IUGR/PE again so they wherent that worried about it happening again

got to 32wks everything going well had an ob appointment and 3d ultrasound
where all normal then the next day I went into labour
12hrs later my water broke
then 24hr after 1st going speaking to the hospital
DS2 was born weighing a healthy 2.1kgs he had a few issues at birth
(wasn't breathing and need some help to get going)

they later told me I had a Bicornute Uterus (heart shaped) and had run out of room
and due to DS2 being a normal size I didn't get as far as i did with DS1 (as he was littler)

then DS3 came along I was watched extremely closely (at least every 2 wks from 9wks) for pre term labour and IUGR/PE again by 30wks
I was having CGT's and scans at least once a week
(towards the end it was every few days) it was a pain
but DS3 was born at 38wks

I had all c-sections as DS1 was breech,
DS2 Crashed and I wasn't dilated enough to go a VBAC (they need to get him out ASAP)
and DS2 was an elective C-section

good luck with TTC and i hope when the time comes you get a take home bubba

I don't know about 2nd time round after a premmie because my 2nd & LAST boy was 5 weeks early.

1st boy was 3155g & 53cm long - born 41wks
2nd boy was 3195 & 53cm long - born 35wks - and was a true 35wk'er no mix up of dates etc. Paed said definately a 35wk'er due to his breathing/feeding issues etc.

I remember sitting on the steps at home two days before he was born saying to Hubby this kid has no room left. I don't know how I will go to the end. Next morning contractions started & couldn't be stopped. Born via C-Section 25hrs later...

I think that I can only handle a certain size baby... Pretty obvious when there was only 40g between them & labour started spontaneously... But who knows...

Im hoping baby no 2 wont be premie. I have to do IVF and baby no1 was premie and couldnt get baby to breast feed due to poor suck.

I have baby no2 on order. lol pmsl. one full term male bubs with a strong suck reflex who is a hungry monster. lol
