Hi guys, just wanted to ask around and see if anyone could help me.
I know that each of us is different and our bodies do such amazing things through pregnancy and birthing..
My first child was born 7 weeks premmie due to my not having enough room, my body went into spontaneous labor with contactions starting and the dr having to break my water. They gave me steroid injections and an injection to slow the labour to ensure the baby had enough time to get the steroids, though the baby arrived the next day.
I remember the nurses in the birth suite not believing me when i arrived and told them i was only 33 weeks and my contractions were 4 mins apart..
My first bub was born 7 weeks prem and still weighed a pretty healthy 5 pounds, though spent 1 month in hospital due to not co-ordinating sucking, swallowing and breathing - had to be fed by tube through the nose and had some dusky episodes when bottle feeding just before bringing her home.
hubby and i have decided to ttc though i am wondering what are the chances my next bub will also be premmie. I am only a tiny build and am wondering if any mums out there who have had more than 1 premmie's are able to fill me in on what might happen..
Will it be more than likely that i will have a c-section or will they just monitor me more closely this time round?
i also struggled with PND due to my first child being in hospital for so long - though I know i am in a much better place this time round if things were to go that way again - i am older and more prepared for things this time round..
have you had more than 1 premmie and if so, how many weeks difference? did you have a c-section? or did your gp and hospital monitor you more closely?
Any advice or feedback would be fantastic. I wouldn't care less if i had to have a c-section - as long as the bub arrives safely and healthy.
Please respond! thanks
