My 8 month old decided to pierce my boob with his new tooth yesterday morning, I have tried a number of times to feed him and he still keeps biting me. I have even pulled him off and given him the stern "NO BITING MUMMY" but he just gives me this funny look and gets back on!
I have been expressing but it is becoming tiresome and annoying, I don't want to give up BF just yet, I was enjoying it so much until yesterday. My mother said that maybe this is a sign to give up but I don't buy that.
When I watched him to see what he was doing, he would feed quite happily for a little while, they he sucks my boob right in his mouth and then drags back with his gums/tooth over the boob and finally the nipple, I have tried to unlatch him at this point but he just grips tighter. When I tried to feed off the side that he bit me on, it hurt like crazy, then bled and he obviously didn't like the taste of the blood because he kept pulling off.
I had awful trouble in hospital when he was born, he wouldn't latch on and I had to express for the first 3 weeks so I really don't want to have to go back to that.
Am I giving in too easily? I bought my first tin of formula yesterday :crying:
