I have a bf 3mth old bb who is on 3-4 hr feeds. Was wondering when/if her feeding would change so she is sleeping longer @ night. Currently feeding 6pm..9pm..12am..3am.
Is there anything I can do or will it happen when it happens? I know I'm being selfish as I am returning to work in 3mths and I would love her to get rid of the midnight feed...
Any1 have any suggestions :-D

You could offer more feeds in the day, and hope that works :)
But they do grow out of it, I promise

Yes I think they just change that routine on their own, though you could try an extra feed in the evening. Doesshe wake on her own at those times?

She does seem to stir close to a feed time I'm to scared ATM to let her go past feed time worried I won't sleep properly cause I'm waiting for her to lose it cause she is hungry. Were trying the dream feed as well which seems to be working... Feed her @12 then she can sleep from 4-6hours after but there is no real consistency tho?
Will she eventually drop the 12am feed or 4am feed? Or both ?.

From my experiences you can't rush them - they do it in their own time.

DS1 slept through from 3mths 6 to 6 with a dreamfeed somewhere between 8 & 10pm.

DS2 (5wks prem) started sleeping through at 8wks (actual age) [3wks adjusted age] but still has nights about once or twice a week where he'll wake for a feed between midnight & 4am.

They're all so different. Don't stress too much about getting Bub to sleep through cause generally once it happens & you get use to it - teeth start.... :D

you can try and cluster feed in the afternoon?

My DS started sleeping 7-8hour stints when he was feeding on an off from about 4-6pm

My DD2 was like this - would feed at 9, 12 then would be really inconsistent after that. then gradually she dropped the 9pm feed, then the 12 got pushed out till 3/4.... so it will happen!!! just who knows when!!

And its not selfish to want sleep - our bodies need sleep to function!!!!

My baby is doing the same. I tried many things to change his wake timing after midnight but nothing works.. He wakes at the same time too 12am, 3am -sometimes 4am and stay awake until 8am.

I tried to feed him more before midnight but once he has had enough, he has had enough.. there's no way to get him to drink more. I like to know if there's a solution too. Is he taking bottle? Get husband/partner to feed after midnight?

I have gotten my lil one into some sort of 'routine' over last week which has gotten about 5-7hrs extra at night.. The 9pm feed is bath first then bf in dark quiet room followed by the 'dreamfeed' which my partner does... She can sleep thru to at least 5am... I'm wrapped!! I now wonder if the midnight feed will be dropped or will we have to continue the midnight dreamfeed

At this age I was giving a 9:30pm dream feed. That usually got her thru and she only woke once a night for a feed, they will do it in their own time. But as other ladies said maybe try an extra couple of feeds in the afternoon. The nurses once told me of they aren't getting enough milk in the day they will continue waking at night to make up for it- but that was once my dd was older. I think at 3 months if she's only waking for 2 feeds she's doing very well :)
