Please tell me I'm not slowly going bald!!
I expected to lose a fair bit of hair after I gave birth as I didn't lose much during my pregnancy, but the rate at which my hair is falling out seems ridiculous and I'm not sure if I should be worried. I'm losing handfuls every time I have a shower, and I have big clumps coming out throughout the day too.
I'm starting to get a couple of thin spots and I was just wondering it this is normal and I'm just being paranoid?

Really normal. When you are pregnant you lose less hair because your body holds onto everything in case your baby needs it, but once you have your baby, you have a lot of hair to let go of.

When DD was about 3 months I started losing clumps. It did calm down - but not before my bathroom looked like a hair dressing salon that doesn't sweep it's floor! Perfectly normal but very annoying.

How long does it go on for? I'm going to need to be creative with how I do my hair if it continues much longer, as I will definitely have a couple of thin/almost bald patches. It's pretty embarrassing.

Yes I have the same thing! I went to the doc as I was concerned and she said its normal (losing big clumps nearly 5 months along). You should have a lot of short regrowth which will eventually grow back. I am lucky I have VERY thick hair so you cant notice it at the moment, but if things keep going for much longer I will look pretty bad :(

Yes omg DD is 4 and a half months old and it's JUST starting to slow down now... JUST!!!
I swear there is no way my hair is growing as fast as it's falling out though!!! I have thin hair too so I need every last strand lol.

I was ready for the hair loss, but nothing could prepare me for how much hair I lost. It receded so much on the sides I was thinking of shaving it off!
Glad I didn't though, it slowed down when DD was about 6.5months and has stopped altogether now at almost 8.
Glad to know I'm not the only one too.

Almost 6 months after having DS I am still losing heaps! I was cleaning the shower about 6 weeks ago and the water wasn't draining down the hole - DH removed the drain cover and pulled out a softball-sized hairball! And this is despite me pushing the clumps aside with my foot each time I wash my hair and putting the hair in the bin afterwards! Hope it slows down soon.

Mine didn't ease until about 7 months. I used to find huge clumps in the shower and could pull out sooooo much just gently combing my fingers through.

My hair loss is slowing (5&1/2 months afterward) but it could just be because I have less to lose now! At least it hasnt left me with bald patches and it isnt noticeable

I am so glad I'm not alone .... I've been really worried at the amount of hair I've been losing, my dd is 6 months and it's still going. No bald patches though. I could almost make a wig lol
Ds is 4.5 months and I was only saying to a friend today how bad mine is getting :( I already have very thin hair so it's very noticeable. I hate it :(
Hi there, I also lost a bucket full of hair and started to go really bald on the sides. Mine got so bad I cut my hair off short and had to wear a fringe to hide the bald spots. It stopped when dd was about 6 months, and then I just had fluff on the sides till it grew back, don't worry about it, it's all normal. I wouldn't waste your time going to the doctors Unless you start seeing shiny bald spots, i'd go to the hairdressers and tell them to get creative!
