Hi everyone,
My 8mth old daughter has been formula fed from 6wks, was introduced to solids at 4mths (fruit, vegies, rice cereal), and more recently custards at 6mths. For about the past 6 weeks or so her cheeks have been red, as well as her chin, and getting progressively worse. I thought initially "teething!", then "wind burn!" etc, but I've noticed it worsens after feeds. She has other signs of allergies too, such as runny nose, and has always been what i'd call a hyperactive and irritable baby - hates sleeping or even sitting still. I did some research and learnt about salicylate sensitivity, so have just started a trial diet with low salicylate fruit and veg. Found a custard that reads ok on the ingredients list, but I swear her face came up twice as bad tonight after her custard. Now I'm wondering....could dairy/milk maybe be the culprit? But she's been on formula practically since birth so wouldn't it have become apparent before now? Or can it take a while to develop? I know red cheeks can be a sign of many things but the correlation to meals seems too much of a coincidence.
If anyone has any insights / experiences they can share I'd be most grateful!!:goodvibes:
