my ds is 17 months old.and is sick at least once a fortnight.he seems to have a constant cold :( and on saturday when we are at the dr's he had to be weighed to determine the dose for his antibitoics for his ear infection and i find ds has lost half a kilo:eek:
he used to be 10.5kg and now he is just on 10kg. its like everytime he puts weight on he loses it as fast as he puts it on :(
he eats lots and i give him vitamins as well. but for some unknown reason he is losing wieght. he hasnt been more active then normal if anything he has been sicker recently so i dont see where he lost the weight.

My dd is 1 day older than your little boy and only weighs 9.2kg. She had lost about 200g about a month ago. I'm not sure why, she hadn't been sick or anything.
Anyway I have been giving her more carb type food, like bread, pasta, homemade bickies etc and she has actually put on 300g in 3 wks. She was only 8.9kg. Usually she only puts on about 50g a week. So I was quite pleased.
Sorry I don't really have much advice for you. Hope your ds is better soon and puts on weight. :hugs:

thanks.

this is what he eats pretty much everyday except for daycare days lol
breakfast: 2 weetbix with warm formula and 2 pieces of toast with vegimite on them
snack: 2 vegimite sandwiches
lunch: vegi's and meat (ussualy a hot lunch) followedby fruit
snack: some fruit or biscuits
dinner: vegi's ,meat. and then he has some fruit puree for dessert.
andif he is still hungry he has dry cheerios. so it cant be how much he is eating
he also has multivitamins every morning. i was talking to a family friend yesturday and she said maybe increase the portion size, but he already eats more then DP lol

He does eat a lot.
I also give my dd rice pudding, custards and sweet couscous. I make them all with goats milk.
Maybe instead of the fruit puree you could try him on one of those.
I also add extra margarine or olive oil to her veges and have been giving her more pasta and rice.

You could also add garlic and ginger to his veges to help with his colds.
