I have a wisdom tooth coming through and it is giving me grief. Before TTCing I would use nurofen cause the ibuprofen worked wonders - but of course now I cant use that. So its down to Panadol.
I've had two tabs twice yesterday, and I want to have two tabs after breakky today - but it really isn't providing much relief at all.
I'm going to go to the chemist today and ask the pharmacist what is recommended - but in the meantime I'm just wondering what other bubhubbers would recommend?

Apart from panadol my only suggestion would be to try cloves rubbed onto the area.
Cloves will help numb the area slightly;)

This is probably going to sound silly but when my wisdoms were coming through I used my sons teething cream  Give it a go

And the taste will make you forget aaalllllllll about the pain
Also, it says on the box of nurofen not to use it in the last 3 months of pregnancy.
You can use Panadiene too.

Codine is generally safe in pregnancy if you don't have any health issues or allergies to it. Makes DH feel sick, but then he's also not pregnant very often
Check with your chemist, and yup try the teething gel! Possibly a non-asprin version though? Check with the chemist for that too :detective:

Call Mothersafe and ask what you can take

I loved a bit of Panadiene action when I was in the first trimester. I got a really bad bug and just ached all over. I was so relieved when I sent DP to the chemist that he actually came back with something that the chemist said was safe to use. I only needed it for a couple of days but I think I would have died without it. (alright maybe I'm being a drama queen:rolleyes: but it really helped:D )

My GP and hospital obs and midwives all assure me that Panadeine and even Panadeine Forte is fine to use in pregnancy (I've had severe pain from gallstones throughout my 2nd and 3rd trimesters and there was no way that Panadol was cutting it!) but yeah if you aren't sure, then call Mothersafe ;)

Cheers for this ladies. For those who recommend Panadeine - did you find that it made you drowsy? I work during the day - and drowsiness wont work...

It didn't make me drowsy, maybe just a little more relaxed.

I used panadeine when pregnant too - it didn't make me drowsy either, but then I use it fairly regularly when I'm not pregnant (I get fairly severe sinus pain).
Panadeine forte, on the other hand, does tend to make me drowsy.
Good luck, Ally! I HATED cutting wisdom teeth (at least it will give you some perspective on how your bub feels when the time comes for their teeth cutting, though :()

I have taken panadol this time round because of a really bad sore throat and ear aches and all seems to be fine.
I have been told you can take panadine too.
Nurofen, mercyndal, tramadol are no no's in pregnancy. They can do more harm than good.

Thank goodness you can use codeine based pain killers - though I gather in very small quantities. I'm in the planning stages of baby #1, and suffer from bad arthritis. Panadeine is one of the only things that allows me to sleep at night.
