Patent ductus arteriosus

My child has this and is going to be removed.

Has anyone had this or heard of it?
If so how was it removed?

my daughter has the same problem well had the same problem hers was fixed in just over a yr ago she no long has any problems,

it is a very simple procedure. DD was done using a cath in her groin no scarring. usually a day procedure that takes about and hour and a half.

how old is ur little one??
what hospital are they going to?

Thanks for your reply. My DD is two and is going to mater.
We are seeing the dr soon so I'm hoping to do the cath procedure has it's not invasive.
How was your child after the procedure? How many checks up after??

hi

she was a bit grogy after the op, but other wise fine.
she had complications after her op, she developed a blood clot in her left leg, she had to stay overnight on a heprin drip, other then that she is doing very well.

she saw the cardio 6 weeks after the op, her next appointment isin august 1yr after her last appointment.

when was her PDA discovered?

She was diagnosed last week. They first picked up a heart murmur.
I'm seeing the dr next week to discuss the options. I hope to avoid surgery and have a cath done.
It's so stressful.
