Got given a script today was worried about the weight but im at the gym twice a day so i hope i can control it were the any other side effects
I ended up in hospital with an irregular heartbeat, twice.
I was quickly taken off of it (similar things have happened with other SSRI antidepressants) and can't take any SSRI as it's too dangerous - only take tricyclic antidepressents now. A good friend of mine says Lexapro changed her life for the better though :)
Good luck.
I was on it for a few years, I didn't experience any side effects and it really helped my depression

I have been on 20mg Lexapro daily for the last 2.5 years, I am currently 26 weeks pregnant and don't think I could've got this far without it, really has helped me with my previously crippling depression and anxiety :)
GOODLUCK!

I wasn't on it for long (I got pg)..but I felt quite a bit better in a shorter amount of time than say Zoloft or Prozac.
Had no weight gain, but increased appetite. I think that worked out because I was more motivated and able to workout and stick with it.
Good luck!! :fingerscrossed:

I didn't like it. Gave me nausea, insomnia and the brain zaps others have mentioned here. Because of the side effects my anxiety and depression got alot worse.
Changed to Lovan (Prozac) and did much better, took that for about 8 months and weaned off it. Now symptom free.
Lexapro has been the best ad for me, and I've tried quite a few(different brands and styles). I'm only on 10mg/20mg alternating daily though.

Since no one is saying whether celapram is the same thing (I think it is??), I'll just tell my experiences on it anyhow :P
Took a little while to get the right dose, started on 20mg and it wasn't enough, so dosage was increased to 40mg. Helped manage my depression and anxiety immensely, but I found that if I took it in the morning, I'd be drowsy and yawning all day...yet if I had it at night I couldnt sleep! The solution for me was to split the dosage - half in the morning, and half at night. It has honestly made a massive difference!!
The only side effects for me is that I've gained 10kgs in a short amount of time, and if I forget a couple of doses, I start feeling extremely spaced out, dizzy, and just very strange. A couple of times I've ran out a few days before payday, and ended up being pretty much non-functional without them. So i've learnt to make sure I do not run out!!! Lol
