i would it would be different to talk about Reactions that our children have.
my daughter 15months old, can't eat chocolate. she comes out in a rash that looks like the Measles, the 1st time she got this rash i took her to the doctors thinking it was the Measles but thank gosh it was only an Allergic Reaction.:fingerscrossed: she will out grow it. she itches it like the chicken pox and is up crying coz she cant itch it lucky it dosent last long.
My ds was allergic to heaps of thing and had really bad eczma til he was about 2. He still has dry skin and gets swollen eyes if he goes to dh parents house as they have their little dog inside. My dd1 had skin infections form about 2 months till 5 months when they told me to put her on Soy milk as she was allergic to a protein in my breast milk?Still not sure if this is true(some people have heard of it, some say how ridiculous)but all I know is that when i did so she got better straight away so...DD2 has always been fine thankgod(apart from a chronic ear infection) but doesn't seem to be allergic to anything although when i finished breastfeeding her at 7 months I put her straight on soy just incase.I told dh it's because when we only had 1 I had more time to clean so everything was always spotless and disinfected where as since having the 2 girls and being preg with #4 I don't have enough time to clean as much hence they don't have any probs!I just like to use this as my lazy excuse! My son was so bad he got nicknamed 'bubble boy' by my sis as her kids have very olive skin and have never had any allergies. She thinks it's funny and always asks"How are the chemist kids"You have to make light of the subject sometimes!

you poor thing my daughter cant have formula milk it blisters her tummy up and she vomites up blood but nothing as bad as ur bub. the doctors didnt put her milk under allergic reaction but i would put it under that lol.
Neither of my kids have any serious allergies...I have varying degrees of allergic reactions to most things that bite/sting, not sure about the kids yet coz they have never been bitten/stung by anything other than mozzies.
When DS had VEGEMITE for the first time, at about 8mths old, he got a rash all over his body from it. Dr said to make sure he didn't have it again til he was over 2yrs old and hopefully by then he would have outgrown the allergy. He is now 3.5 and loves vegemite :) We have not given DD (10mths) vegemite yet, just in case she has the same allergy but a more severe reaction.
DS has never reacted to anything else, so we still don't know what it was in the vegemite that didn't agree with him.
Vegemite actually contains sulphur which alot of people including myself are allergic to!I can't drink red wine and when I fell preg with #4 i was eating toast with vegemite as a snack heaps and had really bad:banghead: hives for 2 weeks and eended up on prednasone.Never had this before as never ealised sulphur was in vegemite but eliminated this and it disappeared.Doc said sometimes reactions can happen with something you have always eaten safely and thinks maybe cos of hormones changing due to pregnancy?weird huh!Just glad it went away,it really gave me an insight into what ny kids had been thru-No wonder Zane never slept properly when he had eczema or a reaction,I only had it for 2 weeks and lost the plot!

umm.. my two daughters dont have any allergies that i know of really, they have been blessed not to have them, they can eat anything really which is great.
My husband is allergic to vegemite, beer, corn etc it is actually the hoops that affect him. He has also developed tears in his stomach in later life relating to spicy and acidic food. He has to be very cautious about what he eats.

Ozzy has a mild allergic reaction to pears - which I find really strange as pears are marketed as one of the least allergenic foods out there.;)

This is absolutely true - they can react very strongly to milk protein fragments found in your milk after you injest dairy protein. I was reading a couple of med papers about this just a couple of nights ago - I'll see if I can find the link so you can understand how it happens and tell people that it IS true. Even my GP thought this was bullshyt, but that just goes to show how much GPs often know about allergies. (Mine knows bloody nothing).
 Thanks Duchessa! The gp told me this but didn't explain why.It was my mum (a midwife-sometimes helpful, sometimes a hinderance!) that wasn't so sure. Now I can at least tell her this. Thanks heaps.
