Dear Mr/Mrs San Remo,
I made some of the four cheese flavour potato mash tonight because I detest peeling potatoes. All I can say is :barf:
Never again. I promise to be a good domestic diva and peel them from now on.
Love, CK
 Love the post!!
I saw the add for that last night, and wonder what it was like, didnt think they were going to be any good maybe for shepards pie but thats it.
Couldn't agree more, we bought it too, same one and it was dis-cuss-sting
nothing beats real potatoes.I hope u learnt ur lesson CK:shame:
lol:laughing:
and after all this, I'm still going to buy just one packet. :p
I remember the ol' days when we'd be out camping and mum would make potato mash with "Deb" :barf: :barf: :barf:
Powdered potatoes...erk!
I wasn't impressed either.
As one who loves a good ol' spud, its sacreligous to even consider a powdered version of potato!! I've seen the ads, and wasn't convinced, reminds of the KFC potato and gravy (dont' even get me started:barf: ) Although peeling potatoes can be a chore, at least the reward is in the taste. Sorry San Remo

And remember, we told you so! Seriously - it looked and tasted like cat vomit. :barf:

Must be at least 20 times  joke, joke! eww
So I clarify: It tasted like what I think cat vomit must taste like. Please excuse me whilst I go throw up.

You actually peel your potatoes?  If it's just me, DH & DD I can't be bothered, and they've gotten used to the lumps too.

Have any of you used a "ricer"? Theyr'e fantastic.....boiled unpeeled potatoes go in, peeled creamy mash comes out! Great timesaver. Only problem is you have to hunt for them in those specialty kitchen stores.....but once found....mmmmmmm bliss..........

 YOU CAN HAVE POTATO MASH WITHOUT PEELING?!
hahahahaha
I'm so going to try this, the peel is the best part.
I've never thought to just boil and mash, I'm too scared It'll be yukky and I won't have anything to serve the Meat and 2 veg with :p

Seekrit, I buy the washed potatoes, the general purpose ones. The skins are usually pretty thin so they break up into bits once cooked and mashed. I only cut out eyes and any scarred/bruised bits. Probably my mash is not the best ever made, but it's at least as good as my mums, lol.
Edit: I did peel them when making mash for DD when she was younger, say under 1 year, just to avoid her getting any bigger bits of skin.

ok, so is everyone going to think I a total freak if I publicly admit to liking 'fake' potato :o
Don't get me wrong, nothing beats the real thing!!! But I happen to like the powdered one too...

 Martha! Im shocked! :p
Oh, yes powdered potato :barf:
BUT has anyone tried the frozen Woolworths brand ones? My mum buys the cracked black pepper ones and they are not so bad at all :chef:
I used to live in Sweden and there they actually have really delicious fake mash! Here  , it is truly revolting.
I second the fine suggestion of buying a ricer for making mash- it is completely easy and gives the best results too:yes: .

Unless you make the chicken, corn and potato soup on the packet
Sounds yummy :barf:
I hate peeling potato's too, when I am super lazy I buy those mashed potato & pumpkin in the fruit & vege section of the supermarket.
I hate how they advertise things to look wonderful but they are rotten, don't get me started on the Maccas salads:thumbsdown: they would be OK if they actually looked like the ones on the add!!

I remember I had friends over and my dad told me to peel the potatos.
SO I RAN AWAY FROM HOME  Spoilt little cow I am. I only went for a little while, enough to make sure the spuds would be done by the time I got home.
