View Full Version : What is going on with my peapods???
Hey guys I washed my peapods inserts three times before use and got them off the line and 3 are really soft and fluffy 2 are quite stiff and not very fluffy at all or soft:confused: so what are they meant to feel like? I may have to send those two back:confused: they were all washed in a wash bag together.

It could be possible that you used too much washing powder. I know that if you use too much clothes dry stiff so this could be the case, possibly :detective: There could be a build up in the inserts.
Give them another wash but with any washing powder.
Let us know how you go :)
i hardly used any and on the subsequent washes i used none. I just thought of something too, it looks like they have not been washed at all the feel the same as when i first got them. the other 3 have softened up beautifully(are they meant to? lol).
oh and BTW I have no idea where my GK is it was posted monday:confused:
peapods were posted tue and arrived thur/fri cant remember.
Lauren I may have a nappy thief like u:eek:
GK's come from Western Australia so i'm sure they will arrive soon. What are peapods inserts made of?
hemp/cotton blend

Cel it is the pre folds that are drying stiff ? That is weird for them to arrive stiff but i don't think it will stop the absorbancy at all.
If the GK's don't arrive by Monday or Tuesday then it's probably safe to assume that the nappy nazi stole them :( :fingerscrossed: they arrive tomorrow.

I have been told WA post is incredibly slow and it is nothing to wait 2 weeks;) So there is still hope!
not stiff as a board just really firm and heavy compared to the other fluffy light soft ones. feels just like they did when i got them. oh and yeah the pre fold thingys.
had the power cut off today for 'maintenance in our area'(FIVE HOURS) -elec company claim the sent a letter out to everyone in area but noone got one so maybe its not just nappies gettin stolen anymore:confused:

I find that my peapod inserts tend to go a little stiff on the line as well. But then again so do all of my inserts (GK and others from the Weewuns). Maybe it is the hemp because my microfibre inserts are always soft.
I have seen somewhere one of the nappy ladies suggested that you fluff up your inserts but flicking them out (for want of a better description) before putting them on the line.
Even though they get a little stiff they are still easy to work with and fold. I haven't found that it has hindered their absorbency at all. Sometimes I stretch them out a little when I get them off the line which makes them easier to fold.
I hope my terrible explanations have help!!!

Hi Cel
I know what you mean! I got a stack of peapods a little while back and realised that there are actually two different types of inserts - one is heavier, longer when folded and stiffer when line dried and the other is lighter, softer and shorter. I think they are two different types of hemp/cotton blend fabrics and although they feel quite different they are both about as absorbent as the other.
I usually pop mine in the drier for a couple of minutes to soften them up and that does the trick or stretching them once they dry works well too, as cassalina said.
good luck!
cheers
