Flu?

Has anyone gotten a bad headcold Flu out of no where then thay were early pregnant. i had the flu the week i found out i was PG with aidan. and yesturday i woke up all yukkos and well today yes my body hurts all oer my heads killing me and im sick! it came outa no where, im unsure where ive picked this up from or when? o well has anyone been in them shoes befor?:barf:

hi sexy, i ended up with virial broncitis(SP?) and was on antibiotics for a week then found out i was PG........ Not good

Apparantly when your in the early stages of making a baby, your body lowers your immune system so that it doesn't reject the bub. Therefore your a lot more open to other infections, colds and flus than you would be any other time..

Interesting u said that cause i am experiencing my second cold/flu in a week!

We have been trying for 3 months and i am due for Af in 2 days, so hopefully af wont come!!!!!:fingerscrossed:

I think this must be true!!! I hardly ever get sick, I am very lucky to get a cold once every couple of years. I am 7 weeks and I have had the worst head cold for the last 4 days, I am feeling so miserable and it totally sux not being able to take any cold & flu medication. :crying:

Yep, when you're pregnant your immune system is weaker. Between 5 and 10 weeks of my pregnancy I got 4 different viral infections. I felt like I was constantly sick ... and I had m/s as well! Don't know if being sick at 3 weeks predicts the fact that you are pregnant, but who knows? What I do know is that it doesn't increase your risk of miscarriage ... that was my biggest concern when I kept getting sick.

so your not allowed to take cold and flu medication when ur pregs??

I dont know if im preg yet (due for periods tomoro) but i am taking dimatap cold and flu.
