Hi,
I am pregnant with my first baby and have been having some spotting and slight bleeding and some light abdominal pains. I can't help but think the worst but i would love some positive reassurance to help guide me through this difficult time. If anyone has any stories that could help boost my confidence please post. I have been to the emergency department at my local hospital and they said they couldn't do anything at this stage and to make a doctors appointment on Monday. I am nearly 6 weeks so can i have a scan?
Please help!:fingerscrossed:

It is possible to have a scan and make sure everything is ok. Your spotting, what colour is it? If it is brownish then that is "old" blood so to speak and if it is red and looks "fresh" i would be going back to the emergency dept and voicing your concerns.

It is natural to spot and feel "period pains" early on so just try and relax. :hugs:

Yes, you can have an internal ultrasound now so I'd be asking to have one tomorrow.

Regardless of whether the blood is old or new, it may be bad news or there may be a perfectly safe explanation for it. When I miscarried for example, I had brown discharge although for others it is different.

Many ladies on here have gone on to have completely perfect pregnancies after a bleed however without knowing what is causing the issue, I can only suggest you go to the Dr tomorrow and have an immediate scan.

Wishing you all the best.:fingerscrossed: :hugs:

I am trying to stay calm. My bleeding is more pink n red than brown.
Thankyou for posting it's nice to know other people have experienced this.
I am trying to stay positive and i will go to the doctors first thing tomorrow.
Keep everything crossed for me.:fingerscrossed:
I will post again tomorrow.

I have had lot's and lot's of spotting this pregnancy. The first time I had spotting was I think just after 12 weeks and it is all turning out fine for me.

I know this sounds silly but the first thing the Dr will probably ask is if you have had sex in the last day or 2 cause that can cause spotting. ;) If not there are still quite a few reasons behind the spotting.

Each time i read a new post I am feeling more at ease.
I know there could be a worst case senario, but I am still
feeling bloated and tired and am keeping positive!
Thanks

I had a couple of instances of spotting early on in my pregnancy - at around 8-10 weeks. I am now 38 weeks pregnant. Please try not to think the worst but do get it checked out - the stress is not good for you or bub.

Went to the doctors today she seemed comcerned so she sent me for a
blood test and an ultrasound. No good news - there is no sign of my baby... i must have already lost the little one over the weekend.
Can anyone let me know any info on miscarriages - how long do you have to wait before trying again?
Thanks :gloomy::banghead:

Oh I'm so sorry for you , you must be very disappointed and sad.:gloomy:
I had a M/C at 5weeks and I didn't have a D & C I just bled out for about a week, like painful period.
Then we TTC the next month. It took 6months to conceive after that however.
I think my body needed that time to recover naturally before I fell pregnant again.

Are you having a D & C?? Either way unless your doctor says so I think it is safe to TTC straight away. We did and have a very healthy 17moth old now!!

Grey eyes,
Did you start straight away in the middle of a cycle?
I am in the middle - if the doctor gives me the ok to start again ASAP.
I am going to the doctor tomorrow- fingers crossed no D & C.
Still feel like hell but trying again will keep me going and help me to
feel a small piece of happiness again.

I have to thank all of the wonderful people who replied to me over the last few days. I must admit i have loss many people over the years including, my nephew at 5mths (1995) my brother Rodney at 32 (1998), my brother Scott at 32 (2000) and my sister at 23 (2005) but nothing compares to the pain of losing a child (no matter how far along). I feel helpless, scared and drained but at the same time determined to forfill my dream of becoming a parent.
I have struggled to get out of bed in the morning, I don't answer the phone, I ignore text messages and all I want to do is be left alone. I felt at first when I was laying there at the ultrasound that I didn't know anyone that had had this experience so how would they understand - until I remembered all of your beautiful souls. Thankyou again for helping make the worst day of my life a little easier!
:hugs:  :fingerscrossed: :hugs:

I just got a call from my doctor at 7.00pm at night.
She wants me to go for another blood test to make sure that my
hcg? levels have dropped. I have already had three and she said it had only dropped slightly.
What does this mean does anyone know?:fingerscrossed:

Muls....not too sure hun...did you also have an U/S when you has BTs? Maybe it was too early on to see anything on U/S? Don't want to get your hopes up........but :fingerscrossed: Anything is possible with this TTC/PGCY business!

:hugs:

Let us know how it goes!

Let us know how you go. Try not to get your hopes up either though. It can take a while for the hormones to clear out of your system. Thinking of you. I'm sure that if this isn't your time there'll be a little bub waiting just around the corner for you.
