Was hoping I might get some answers to this. Are there any girls out there that have fallen pregnant and had a viable pregnancy after ovulating very late?

I am going thru IVF and am hoping to have our embryo transfered when I naturally ovulate. My problem is that I ovulate very late (it can be as late as day 48!) I have fallen pregnant 3 times before. The first time I am not sure of the day I ovulated but our second pregnancy I ovulated on day 34 and my last pregnancy I ovulated on day 48 (which unfortunately I had a miscarrage).

I am really hoping someone else has been in a similar situation (IVF or natural conception) so I could get a bit of feedback. Thanks everyone

Hi l.J. Don't despair!

It doesn't matter how long your cyycles are just as long as you are actually ovulating.
Some women have short cycles with no ovulation at all.

My last two cycles were 62 and 69 days and I got pg second attempt.

You can check out my chart.

Yes! We had good news from a cycle when I ovulated on day 29. The pregnancy is now in its 16th week, and all is chugging along as it should.

:fingerscrossed: for you! May it happen this cycle:yes:.

Yep LJ

I ovulated on day 49 this cycle and got a BFP - still early days but the Dr assured me that late ovulation PGs have exactly the same chances as sticking as one from a "normal" ovulation time

Good luck!

Thankyou so much Bolli, Nut & Little_Toad
I really appreciate your answers. Your input and advise has made me feel so much better. My fertility specialist is wonderful and really does listen to any thoughts we have about our cylce. Having this "ammunition" is great. It makes me feel even closer to our much wanted "natural" transfer. I am so excited I cant wait to tell my DH :smiliedance:

Little_Toad - I had a sticky beak at your chart. Thanks for that. I am charting myself (the old fashioned paper and pencil LOL!!). Isn't it amazing what you can learn about your body!!

Congratulations on all of your BFP's. Heres hoping some of that baby dust will blow our way soon.

I didn't have a period for 4 months and suddenly found out I had concieved my first son. With my second I had no period for 3 years until I took herbal supplements and I concieved on a 39 day cycle with my second. Now I am on a 38 day cycle and I ovulate on day 25 and I don't think it will be a problem as long as I continue to ovulate. Just relax and go with whatever your Dr. has to say. I am having a bad day too because my 18 year old niece just found out she is pregnant!
