uregnt - i have bought oven bags to cook a roast tonight so i dont mess up my new oven, anyway how do i go about it do i still oil the bottom of the pan? Do i put butter in the oven bag and do i put wholes in the bag? how do you do it.
probably a bit late now, but seeing as no one has replied yet...
the box of oven bags should give you the instructions - generally you put a tblsp flour in the bag and shake it around to coat it and put your roast inside and tie the bag, pricking it a few times with a fork. You can still season your roast as you would normally. I put the bag on the rack in the roasting tray to keep it off the pan.

even better - i find them to be a waste of time.. just cover your roast in seasoned flour (put a tablespoon of flour and some herbs into a freezer bag and throw roast and veges in and toss until coated)..
Then put them all onto an oiled tray.. bake at 200 degrees until cooked.
