Hey everybody,

I have seen you guys have some great advice for people with endometriosis. I am currently waiting to see the gyno in July and I am so scared with what I have read about endometriosis. I know you guys arent doctors, but I just need some advice from people going through what I have been going through.

(History)
This is just some of my history with endo. I was diagnosed in March this year after having my appendix removed and that explained a lot for me for what has been going on all these years with the pain I have been going through. I have not yet seen the gyno and all I was told up to this point that I will possibly need a surgery and that I will need to get pregnant soon if I ever want to have kids. Me and my faince are waiting to see the gyno before we start trying for our first. I have been in the emergency department twice with endo pain and they said they cant do anything for me and that I have to wait. I am in the public system because we cant afford private health. My faince is the sol income earner in our relationship because endo has made it impossible to keep a job with the pain I am in.

(Questions)
What can I expect from my first visit to my gyno?
How was your first endo surgery and what can I expect?
How long did it take you to fall pregnant after your first lap?
Will the gyno tell us to try for 12 months before help us to conceive?
What helped you to cope with the pain?

hey there thought id share you my story.
i have had endo since i started getting my period at 15 or whatever.
ive had 1-2 days in bed chronic pain my entire life. i know what you mean about the job. with endo its not just a period for four days its bloating and pain leading up to then a week to get over it so it affects 2 weeks a month for me.
i had a laparoscopy couple of years ago. tried to have a baby for a year endo came back. no baby. not even close. had another lap this time cut out its made a big difference i would def do it if i were you. my gyno is my ivf doctor so he basically did the surgerys and suggested artificial insemination which we didnt bother with. chances arent that much greater than naturally or so i was told.
so we started IVF september last year.

first try was cancelled not enough eggs, second try got pregnant, but miscarriage early days. 3rd try we had a frozen embryo, that was april this year.. didnt happen. went back to doc after researching misscarriages and fired loads of questions at him so he sent me for tests i have immune disorder that fights of the embryo implanting on top of the endo. so we are doing ivf started injections couple of days ago and can be treated for the immune disorders. so will see what happens this try.
we tryed for a year and a half naturally. if i had my time again id take more of a proactive effort in researching and not taking what the docs say for gospel because some arent really interested and will just say keep trying.

try having the ops because it has seriously helped me. instead of two days crying in pain in bed im now managing to go to work even that time of month most of the time and just taking nurofen with codeine instead of morphein or panadeine forte.

it may always be underlying endo. when you get a period it can still grow back when you bleed. but some people are worse than others. yours sounds pretty bad!
good luck with your journey. you may have success early alot of people do! so dont let this scare you always have to be positive super hard but its so easy to get undone and im sure you know that from what you have said.

all they ladies on here are amazing and have helped me with their knowledge and caring amazing what some people cope with but still have love for total strangers. so always ask and talk about it knowledge is power!!! xxx
