Baby carrier suggestions?

Hi, baby number two is on his way in 17 weeks, and I am after recommendations of baby carriers... I tried a mini monkey with DS when he was a new born but found it craned his head forward, possibly because i was doing it wrong... When he was able to hold his head up I used a hug a bub and found it brilliant untill he got too big for me to carry. Has anyone used this for a newborn? Or any other type they found wonderful?

I ADORED my hugabub and used it for as long as I could ...

I recently got an ergo and it has been heaven sent ...

I used a mini monkey for a few months for hip carries when he was smaller but never as a newborn ...

I suggest keeping the HAB. And getting an ergo - you cant go wrong!!

ETA - the HAB is PERFECT fir newborns :)

I borrowed a hug a bub and then bought a Close carrier (similar design to the HAB but half tied already) and loved them both for the newborn time up to 6 month ish. I now have an Ergo and love it for an older bub. Now she is a toddler, i am experimenting with the back carry and find that pretty comfy too!

So, keep the HAB. If you want another newborn carrier, try the Close Carrier. If you want one for when bub gets heavier, go the Ergo.

Def keep the HAB for newborn - one of the best wraps for keeping a newborn upright, close and safe... It could, depending on baby's size take you up to 6 months (although larger / older kids are carried).

For toddlerhood, I love my ergo - you can go front hip and back carry. Your back will feel a lot better and you can wear baby for way more longer periods of time.

I love my Ergo. I used it with DS as a newborn with the insert and it was the only way he would sleep.

heres me (im camping so excuse my look) with my son (14 months) in our close carrier. its usually a bit more spread out but it was a quick walk up the track so i just shoved him in

I started with a HAB, then moved to a maya ring sling, Didymos and a Gypsymumma. Had an ergo but it just didn't suit which made me sad because I'd always had ergo envy and had the gorgeous organic embroidered ergo.

Just tried on the Olives and applesauce carriers and it suits my body shape so much better. It also has the infant bit built in which is great as L is only 13 weeks :)

I had a hug a bub from newborn to 4 months (he got too big) and then I got an Ergo. they are both great carriers.

Love my Ergo! First I tried it with the insert for my newborn and really didn't like it so then just put him straight in it in a froggy style position. The hood supported his head but he had a really strong neck from birth otherwise I would've kept him in the insert. He was born 9lbs at birth so maybe thats why, he's so strong in the neck? It's been a Godsend and wished that I had bought one for my other two kids when they were babies. I tried a baby bjorn with my middle child when she was a few months old and it is the worst thing ever.

I have an ergo sport. I didn't bother with the insert for nb as I hated it with ds, and had a ring sling when bub was little, but never for the hang of it.

On recommendation of the ladies on here at about 12 weeks I started putting her in froggy and I love it! Its great I take ds to tumble tots with her in it, I can play with ds in the playgrounds with her in it. I even work on saturday mornings with her in it! Love love love it!...and I much prefer it to the original ergo I had with my son

Had a HAB, but am now sold on the K'tan.
