Hi My Name is Rachel
I am new to this. I am a first time mum with 3mth old Leyton. I live in Kingston and was wondering if there was a mother's group in the area. I would really like to meet new people.
If anyone out there that can help me, Leyton is a breastfeed baby and since he was about 3 days old I have expressed milk so my husband could feed him the bottle, he accepted the bottle without a problem. My husband stopped feeding Leyton the bottle for a while, now Leyton crys when he is given the bottle. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get Leyton back on the bottle that would be great. He mainly won't take the bottle at night. He has just gone through a growth spurt.

HI girls,

Being a little new to the state I have no idea where either place is. I'm on Annerley (bordering Dutton Park). My dd and I have been trecking to Aspley to meet up with some other hubbub Mums for a little while but they are going to brave the bridge and come see my place. You are very welcome to come also. We're all new at this Mum caper and have only been meeting for a short time. It's on Friday around 10.30am. PM me for more details.

Hi Rachel
I don't have not had to try this myself, but I have heard people who put the dummy in first to let baby get the rythym going and then swap it for the bottle. This may work for you if your DS takes a dummy. Keep persisting and he should get used to it again. I was careful with my second DD, as I knew that I was going back to work at about 6 months and wanted to make sure she would take a bottle. The first few times she was fine and then after about a month's break, she started to get fussy with the bottle. We just persisted, giving her a bottle once every week and now she's fine with breast or bottle. Try giving him a bottle for a feed he's really hungry for, it might help persuade him. He may just be a bit too tired during the night feed to tolerate a bottle when he'd rather his nice warm Mum! Then when he's a bit more tolerant, he should take a bottle whenever you need him to.

Cheers

Thanks for your help. I have started to give him a bottle once during the day, and again around his 5-6pm feed, that is working ok, but his last feed at night is posing the probelm, he really cries. But i will keep on trying. Leyton doesn't have a dummy so I will have to try the hard way.
Thanks for your advice.
Rach :)
