I borrowed my brothers sony DSLR when i went on holidays last week. I've borrowed it before and never had any trouble uploading or viewing the photos on my computer. When i borrowed it last week, it already had about 20 of my brothers photos on it, and i took about 100. Anytime i put the SD card into the computer to upload the photos, only his and a few panorama ones i took come up to upload, the others can't be viewed no matter what program i use to open them. So i'm guessing i need to convert the file types somehow, from raw to jpg? HELP:(

You'll need a photo editing program rather than just using Windows picture viewer.

I found Google Picassa really good (and free). It recognises RAW files and allows you to convert them. The other alternative is to set the camera to either jpeg or jpeg and RAW files types.

You should be able to download the manufacturer's software (from memory the Sony converter is called "Image Data Converter" or similar) that came with the camera. That software will have the ability to convert their ARW RAWs to a format that you can use.

Try Googling "Image Data Converter" and your camera model, or search through the Sony website for their support page. The download locations shouldn't be too hard to find.
