Hi,
I know someone already posted this question but I didnt pay much attention at the time.
What knickers are best to buy for after a cs? Big ones or ones that just clear the scar?
Hmm and just as a personal touch did anyone go specific colours? I wore black for my first birth, thinking would be good to hide any overflow blood stains etc but this time am feeling I'd like a little more colour (must be pregnancy hormones making me batty asking this question). What did everyone else do?

The higher the better. I found the normal ones to sit too close to the wound, and ended up with full granny ones. I also found it helpful to stick a sanitary pad between the dressing and the knickers for extra padding.

I bought a pack of 10 huge bloomers from Big W, wore them for about 2 weeks them threw them out! Was back into my G's pretty quickly! My scar is so low that unless I wore tightish hipster trousers there wasn't any pain.

The pack I bought had all colours but the maternity pads are so good that staining for me wasn't a problem.

i bought quite a few pairs of granny undies, even though they were not that flattering:laughing: i found them to be comfortable enough and you definately dont want anything rubbing on your wound. all dark colours for me.

I just continued to wear the bigger sized ones that I was wearing while I was pregnant. They were all black, but that's just my preference. I like black :)

Hi,

I originally packed just normal hipster undies (without even thinking that it would be very close to my scar). So i got my mum to bring me undies that sat high up and that were going to hold my stomach in (as the midwife had recommended). I found them to be very comfortable and supporting... my mum came with white, beige and black. she came with a few different ones, i found the bonds ones to be most comfortable.

Hi,
I bought full briefs. They were comfortable for me but also supported my stomach. I found target had great undies and they came in many colours as well and they didn't cost an arm and a leg either!

I got some gorgeous bloomers from best and less they came up to my ears and were the most comfy for me you want them so the come over your scar/wound and the incision is just along your pubic hair line, so way above that! + they got to be able to hold a giant pad lol

I had a mix of hipsters and grannypantys. All different colors, as i also didnt have a problem with staining. My incision site was so low that it didnt matter anyway, i never had a problem. I didnt have enough pain to worry about a pad in front of the scar either.

For both of my c/s's I swore by Bonds Cottontails. I found the extra tummy support to be wonderful, and they're really comfortable. They aren't the most attractive things, but practicality and comfort was far more important in the short term!

Only downside is they only come in white, although I've never found that to be a problem.

First time round no-one had mentioned anything about it to me ,so I went unprepared to hospital. This time I've bought a few pairs of Nanna nickers (whatever colour/brand is on the cheep rack at Target) for the first few days after the CS.

I bought a few bonds cottontails from myer in white, beige and black. I bought them for the size i was at near full term (size 14) and even though you do shrink a bit after bubs is delivered, you are still sore and swollen and the size and the fact they were extreme full briefs were awesome.

as long as you get cotton to allow your skin to breathe and full briefs with no lacy bits etc you will be fine!
