Thinking of opting for biodegradable nappies for my soon to be newborn, but there are quite a few on the market. Has anyone experience in using biodegradables, and what is the best brand for value? I was thinking of either Bambo or Ecogenises? I also heard that using bio nappies & bio wipes mostly prevents nappy rash - is this true? Appreciate any thoughts.

No expert here, don't even have kids but think its great your trying to make a better choice. My sister used some that claimed to be bio but apparently they only break down if exposed to uv so once in landfill don't do much. Not sure if there are proper ones though. My sister switched to cloth in the end.

I use cloth but I just bought some eco-disposables to try (for outings, instead of using regular disposables). They are Little Takas and I got them from Toys R Us. They are surprisingly good! They are lovely and soft, and the 10-15kg size fits both my 15kg 14 month old and 16kg almost 3 year old. My almost 3 year old wore one all night last night with no problems.

I really really really love wotnot nappies. They are so gentle on skin, no alcohol or nasties to irritate the baby. And my fave nappy is seventh generation. I have tried many nappies, but I keep going back to Seventh Gen. Price wise, they are comparable to non eco-friendly nappies, since the dollar has improved!

Seriously - the cheapest!
