View Full Version : August mummies Sydney meet
I thought I would take the initiative to 'organise' a meet for all the August mothers in Sydney (and anyone else who can get here!:D )
I was going to start a poll with suggestions for a meeting place, but I thought it might be better to leave it completely open to everyone's suggestions rather than limit it, so please feel free to put forward your suggestions below.
I think we should try and organise it for the first week of October, unless anyone has any objections to having it so soon.
Anyways, a couple of suggestions from me:
- A day meet at a playcentre or park so that anyone with toddlers can be catered for.
- An AO evening, at a restaurant or cafe.
Any other suggestions?
Sorry, I shouldn't have said adults only, because of course there's no problem with bringing bubs along- forget the AO part! All welcome!

i'm up for the park option .... daytime things are way more doable for us at the moment than night things
i don't really know any good ones tho .... i'm in the ryde/epping/macquarie uni area but i don't mind travelling as long as there's parking/good public transport
Definitely day time stuff for us too. Preferably not a Friday.
I don't mind where, I will travel wherever. Maybe lunch at a casual little cafe with an area for the toddlers.
I don't know of any such area mind you!!

Hi August Sydney mummies,
do you guys start a thread for everything?
Couldn't help but notice your dilemma, I also live in the ryde area. I actually posted in the july thread that I was looking for peeps to come walking with me.
I park my car at Rhodes shopping centre and go walking in Bicentennial park.
If you guys wanted to go to a cafe there is Pages at the Christian bookshop opposite West Ryde Station, (just be aware that the first 2 weeks of October are school holidays, and that place is best avoided at this time, they bang on the play equipment and the noise drives you bonkers!)
anyway toddler wants my attent
Hi August Sydney mummies,

Nah, that's just me:laughing: . Everyone else seems happy enough to post it in the main thread- I just like having thngs categorised- its the virgo in me!
Anyways, I'm gonna wait a couple more days for more responses then I'm gonna start a poll with a couple of specific suggestions for next Thurday (the first thursday in October)....
Where are all the Sydney-siders when you want em?

Arent you extra extra keen Raffee! Is this what happens when you have a household full of kids??
Like Ive said before I would love to attend one of these get togethers not sure if it will be the first one as Im not yet able to drive. I would like to see something on a trainline in either the city or south but of course I think we should suit the majority.
oh not in the poxy school holidays!
i will be in my house with the door barricaded.
I'm up for a meet but as I don't drive it would have to be somewhere in the city or on the train line (preferably not too far from the city). Pretty much any day suits us. I should be okay for an AO night (God bless formula!).
There's a Gloria Jeans in the Mid City Centre that is open planned and has a reasonable amount of seating and so forth if that's any help ...
Rightio. One poll coming right up!
