Hi, My anesthetist is proposing a combined spinal and epi. I am a bit nervous of the spinal (not so much the epi). Have you had this? What was your experience?

I had the combined, I trusted whatever he recommended and it was fine! I had a local then the needle ( didn't hurt!) then legs went numb then couldn't feel anything from say chest down, after op maybe 10 mins in recovery u felt tingling in my legs then by about half hour could move them perfectly! I'd go with what they recommend , you'll be fine :)

I only had a spinal, but it honestly, it wasn't bad at all. I was scared of the concept of it, not what actually happened :hugs:

I had the combined, apparently the combination means you feel the urge to push more? Anyway I didn't know I had it until after (my labour was very quick and full on) and I could definatly feel the baby coming, but zero pain.
I didn't feel it going in at all. God only knows how I kept still!

It physically feels the same as an epi, the needle the whole bit. I've had it twice and an epi once. Less chance that the spinal won't work- my epi didn't work so I was the opposite and really wanted the combined spinal/epi.
